    Part 3 of the StyloBot Release Series is up.

    This one is less about bots and more about the reality of long-running .NET based systems: everything that learns from traffic eventually accumulates.

    Came from one of my periodic reliability reviews where StyloBot’s vector layer had drifted to 13GB on the .NET Large Object Heap due to the wrong abstraction (in-process HNSW behaving like an unbounded cache).

    The interesting part wasn’t the fix. It was recognising that the architecture itself was wrong for the runtime pattern.

    using dotnet-counters, dotMemory and dotTrace to find growth

    why “just add a cap” is often the wrong answer

    replacing unbounded ANN structures with bounded hot caches + compacted persistence

    bot detection, fraud scoring, recommendations, anomaly detection, RAG pipelines, adaptive systems.

    突然想到Nitter github.com/zedeus/nitter 这么好，而且本身就有RSS，没有人整合到Fediverse吗？如果可以还要bird.makeup做什么（bird.makeup大概是可以自动创建账户，迁移头像banner简介，如果是手动创建的话，没有什么广泛使用的前途 :neocat_googly_shocked: sr.ht/~cloutier/dotmakeup/ ）

    还有 rss-parrot.net 但是自托管做的不是很好（和我的实例不兼容，什么鬼👻）

    自建过Nitter，好像也没有也遇到过速率限制，至少体验比经常Rate Limited的Redlib（Reddit开源隐私前端好多了 github.com/redlib-org/redlib ）

    等等，突然发现bird.makeup也将nitter作为了一种数据源：git.sr.ht/~cloutier/dotmakeup/

    Twitter API 调用没有速率限制
    可以将 Twitter 抓取任务拆分到多个服务器上执行
    现在已有针对非官方 API 的集成测试
    核心流程已进行调整，消除了瓶颈。截至撰写本文时，bird.makeup 已能流畅支持超过 11.5 万用户

    Apparently, someone crammed 69666 characters of Unifont 13.0.06 into BDF for u8g2     #font generation, so BDF evidently doesn't have that limit either, and upstream Unifont doesn't do this. Also, because of FontForge limits crashing when importing a lot of glyphs, evidently the BDF is custom on the u8g2 Github, but the problem is that it hasn't been updated to Unifont 15, so while Plane 1 is reduced two versions, Plane 0 is upgraded two versions, without going over 65535, ensuring better BDF compatibility, especially when doing low-level stuff (evidently not needed here). Then again, Minecraft uses .hex files in 1.20 to get around non-HarfBuzz TrueType limits. Also I can't run Unifont compilation utilities on any machine I've tried, so I'm stuck with what I've got.

    Sometimes it's okay to be proud of what you've got.
    I mean, it will work better on the older Linux builds its intended for, and it is actually generatable without crashes in FontForge, or forcing inflexible code to compile, or using the abridged Bits'N'Picas, which hates the BDF enough to not want to make a .hex.

    Compatibility is key, folx.

    Apparently, someone crammed 69666 characters of Unifont 13.0.06 into BDF for u8g2     #font generation, so BDF evidently doesn't have that limit either, and upstream Unifont doesn't do this. Also, because of FontForge limits crashing when importing a lot of glyphs, evidently the BDF is custom on the u8g2 Github, but the problem is that it hasn't been updated to Unifont 15, so while Plane 1 is reduced two versions, Plane 0 is upgraded two versions, without going over 65535, ensuring better BDF compatibility, especially when doing low-level stuff (evidently not needed here). Then again, Minecraft uses .hex files in 1.20 to get around non-HarfBuzz TrueType limits. Also I can't run Unifont compilation utilities on any machine I've tried, so I'm stuck with what I've got.

    Sometimes it's okay to be proud of what you've got.
    I mean, it will work better on the older Linux builds its intended for, and it is actually generatable without crashes in FontForge, or forcing inflexible code to compile, or using the abridged Bits'N'Picas, which hates the BDF enough to not want to make a .hex.

    Compatibility is key, folx.

    Stary, około 23-letni, budzik Oregon Scientific niedomaga: padło podświetlenie, a odbiór #DCF77, mimo dużej anteny, nie może zakończyć się sukcesem (chyba że zawiozę budzik na wieś lub do lasu na synchronizację). Co ciekawe, dwa leżące obok malutkie Casio nowe mają żadnego problemu z odbiorem.
    Chyba trzeba kupić nowy sprzęt. Zastanawiam się nad jakimś TFA Dostman, ale szkoda jednak tego starego. Sentymenty 😀
