A beta version of my #CodingFont and #TerminalFont family Sudo has been released.
In version 4, I've added parametric variable axes so that you can modify the spacing and the width of the letterforms independently. Combined with the existing weight and descender axes, this makes the fonts ultra configureable so you can get exactly the dimensions and look you want in your IDE.
For example, my current #font setting in #VSCode is weight 340 and width 98, see the sample #Python code in the image.

Immer wieder erstaunlich, wie viel Herzblut Schriftdesigner wie #FabrizioSchiavi in winzige Details eines Fonts stecken. Schön zu sehen, dass es nach Jahren mal wieder ein Update gibt. Ich bereue keinen Cent, obwohl es vermutlich eine der unnötigsten Investitionen meines Lebens war. Apparently, someone crammed 69666 characters of Unifont 13.0.06 into BDF for u8g2 #font generation, so BDF evidently doesn't have that limit either, and upstream Unifont doesn't do this. Also, because of FontForge limits crashing when importing a lot of glyphs, evidently the BDF is custom on the u8g2 Github, but the problem is that it hasn't been updated to Unifont 15, so while Plane 1 is reduced two versions, Plane 0 is upgraded two versions, without going over 65535, ensuring better BDF compatibility, especially when doing low-level stuff (evidently not needed here). Then again, Minecraft uses .hex files in 1.20 to get around non-HarfBuzz TrueType limits. Also I can't run Unifont compilation utilities on any machine I've tried, so I'm stuck with what I've got.

Sometimes it's okay to be proud of what you've got.

I’ve released version 1.1 of my free coding and UI font family, Sudo.

Each style contains 1649 glyphs. Sudo supports the DIN 91379 and @koeberlin Latin S & M character sets, as well as Cyrillic and Latin, totalling a massive 416 languages for 3.3 billion people. according to @rosetta’s Hyperglot.

TIL in VSCode you can specify your CSS font-variation-settings under the "editor.fontVariations" key, and thus fine-tune your #CodingFont appearance.

#codingfont says my winner font is Fira Code! Have used it extensively for years, switched a couple of years ago, maybe I should revisit.
