Since I've been playing Jagged Alliance 2 to death, I decided to revisit a game I played when it originally came out but never got far into because I found it too frustratingly hard. Bringing my JA2 mentality into things, I am very much so enjoying the original Baldur's Gate. Opted for the Enhanced Edition instead of installing from my original discs just for the QoL additions.
Also, the memories that came flooding back when I found this baby. Oh! How this item captured my imagination when I saw it back in the day. Never got why it was regarded as a curse. Afterall, why would anyone want to ever take it off?
Although... that'd be based on my mental model of what changing one's gender would've been back then. By my current model... yeah... that'd be horrifying. Changing my physical characteristics? Fine. Changing my own internal sense of identity? Absolutely hell.

This is it, we've done just about everything worthy of our attention span, and it's been like, 6 months or something since we began on this journey of our, time to end this.
Today we march onto the upper city, combat the Eldritch horrors beyond comprehension, and defeat the cosmic entities corrupting our reality. Today we save Faerûn!

My boxed version of Baldur's Gate 3 was getting lonely on the shelf. I won two auctions on original Scandinavian releases of Baldur's Gate I and II. Got a really great deal on BG2. BG1 ended up in a bid war that I won, we just don't talk about where it ended.

I'll get back to it and try to play it again soon - but the hardest thing to accept about Baldur's Gate 3 is that it's called Baldur's Gate 3. If it had any other name, it might be easier to accept that it's not RTWP combat.
Been thinking on this as I replayed Baldur's Gate 1 recently (and currently playing through Pillars of Eternity again).
