Was #Lehrer so machen am #Sonntagabend: #Arduinos zusammen basteln. Noch acht Stück, dann bin ich erstmal durch. Zehn weitere folgen aber demnächst noch. Insgesamt haben wir dann drei halbe Klassensätze für das #PflichtfachInforamtik.

Any #recommendations on a instance that has #robots, #arduinos, #esp32s, ham radio content?

It will be sad to have to move again, but understandable as to why.

Apparently, someone crammed 69666 characters of Unifont 13.0.06 into BDF for u8g2 #font generation, so BDF evidently doesn't have that limit either, and upstream Unifont doesn't do this. Also, because of FontForge limits crashing when importing a lot of glyphs, evidently the BDF is custom on the u8g2 Github, but the problem is that it hasn't been updated to Unifont 15, so while Plane 1 is reduced two versions, Plane 0 is upgraded two versions, without going over 65535, ensuring better BDF compatibility, especially when doing low-level stuff (evidently not needed here). Then again, Minecraft uses .hex files in 1.20 to get around non-HarfBuzz TrueType limits. Also I can't run Unifont compilation utilities on any machine I've tried, so I'm stuck with what I've got.

Sometimes it's okay to be proud of what you've got.

On my Github so far I've posted UnifontEX builds for UCGLIB and U82G Arduino LCD/VFD/OLED environments that allow a more out-of-the-box way of using UnifontEX in an LCD or TV head costume. Having said that, one is 7MiB (UCGLIB), and the other is 6MiB (U82G). You may potentially need external RAM no smaller than 8MiB. But you have the font unabridged, which is the entire goal of UnifontEX: One font to rule them all.

For better or for worse, I find the Github to be quickest to update, so I say the Github is the current best place to find it, but I will in a week when finals are done issue an update spree, as well as amending the internal credits to include one name I didn't find on September 12th, 2023. This requires bumping the TrueType, WOFF, WOFF2, WOFF3 (BWTC32Key-wrapped TrueType at present), OTB, EOT, and DFONT versions, which will not be speedy. I then have to reupload everything and tell people to use the new build, which is functionally-identical by the way. This will be a headache. I'm already drained for other reasons, and fonts are presently the least of my concerns. The LCD versions are there for people to use in their projects. Want a Unicode LCD, well now you might be able to have that pony.
