How did old computers sound, and how were they made to sing? Find out!The "online worlds" exhibits are slowly being replaced by new ones, except for the DiskettenBOX BBS. That one will stay permanently!

Tonight I spent some time reverse engineering. I wanted to find out how the #Kramer-MC manages to hide its ROM for CP/M. The main work is done by a DS8286, which isolates the data bus. However, this seems to be implemented very half-heartedly on our unit, as the data bits internal to the bus connector are shorted :) You can find the IC placement in the bottom right corner.

Dank vieler Spenden in den letzten Monaten quillt das Lager der Diskette über - ein sehr schönes "Problem" zu haben.

Thanks to lots of donations over the last few months, the Diskette storeroom is bursting at the seams – a rather nice ‘problem’ to have.

My good deed of the day was this #NES from 1985. After many Q-tips and drops of chrome polish, all six games, including Mario Brothers, are working again. A friend donated them after he couldn't get them to work. The problem wasn't so much the internal connector, but rather the contact surfaces of the games. #RetroConsole #Nintendo #ComputerMuseum
