Zasięgam porady prawnej i na razie nie będę komentować szczegółów tej sprawy.
Dziękuję wszystkim, którzy w ciągu ostatnich siedmiu lat korzystali z Nittera, hostowali go, tworzyli pakiety, przekazywali darowizny i wnosili swój wkład w ten projekt."

Cierran Nitter y XCancel a demanda de Musk. A estas alturas se me escapa por qué alguien querría estar al tanto de publicaciones de lugares como Xitter o Tramp Social. El público debería ir a los lugares donde puedan tener las mejores condiciones y los vendedores ambulantes son quienes deberían esforzarse por encontrar un hueco en esos lugares, hacerlo al contrario no tiene utilidad para alguien que sepa orientarse.

Projeto Nitter e suas instâncias derrubados por uma ordem de "Cease & Desist" do X/Twitter

De acordo com o artigo, a empresa acusa o Nitter de ter contornado e usado de forma ilegal o API da plataforma e seus dados associados. Ainda conforme o artigo, a X Corp também diz deter evidências de que o Nitter fez scrapping de seus dados, coletando dados de contas do X e de sessões de ID em desacordo com as regras do site.

Thank you, #Nitter for proving a privacy respecting way to follow the people being hostage by that despicable platform and it's owner. I wish there was a way to win this legal battle, but I fear that it's Twitter/X's legal right to do this.

"Nitter, an open source project that allowed people to read X posts without logging into or even opening the X app, has received cease-and-desist letters from X demanding that it shut down. The news was shared via a brief message posted to the project’s website, and follows X’s earlier attempts to knock Nitter offline by technical means.
The service also powers a number of other sites, including XCancel, that allow people to view X posts directly.
This isn’t X’s first attempt to shut down Nitter. In 2024, Nitter’s flagship instance, Nitter.net, went dark temporarily after X rolled out new API restrictions. Nitter worked by fetching public X posts and then stripping out the ads, tracking cookies, and JavaScript, giving people a clean, clutter-free way to read posts without an account or the app.
After that crackdown, those who wanted to host a Nitter instance had to connect it to a real X account, according to the project’s GitHub page. Despite the restrictions, development picked back up and Nitter instances came back online.
This time, X is working to shut down Nitter and its instances via legal means."

Sfortunatamente Nitter ha dovuto chiudere sotto pressione di Twitter/X; lo usavo anch'io per controllare gli aggiornamenti di alcuni progetti.
Temo che l'unico modo rimasto per sopperire sia di usare Tor.

L'ordine di cessazione e desistenza da parte di X chiude Nitter e #XCancel, siti che raccoglievano e replicavano i tweet.
#Nitter, un progetto che permetteva agli utenti di visualizzare post e altri contenuti di X senza visitare il sito web o accedere alle app, è stato chiuso martedì dopo aver ricevuto una diffida legale dalla piattaforma di social media di proprietà di Elon Musk.

Ça m'a toujours fait rigoler Nitter. C'est un truc foireux qui répond aux besoins de Twitter de gens qui n'arrivent pas à s'en passer. Autant dire que sa disparition me fait lâcher un gros osef.

#xcancel.com used to be one of the last known publicly available #nitter instances. #X apparently have served them notice and it is not working anymore. This is what the instance show now..
On Monday 24th August at 8PM EST, we received at letter from X Corp. asking to cease and desist the service XCancel.
The service XCancel is stopped until further notice.
We are seeking legal advice and won't share more details for now.
