About fifteen years ago, I remember reading articles saying that "studies show" changing the clock had significant negative effects, and that the arguments about increased productivity were not borne out by evidence. There were no claims then that permanent #DST was better than permanent standard time, as I recall, only that it would be better to stop switching back and forth.

(My own personal experience with small children also inclines me to oppose switching.)

@mpjgregoire Saskatchewan doesn't use Daylight Savings Time at all. Alberta is planning to make DST permanent, which (IMO) is the worst of the three options (Ontario is considering that as well).
