Hej, är det någon kunnig programmerare som kan tala om för mig hur lätt/svårt det är att ställa om till permanent normaltid och hur lång tid det skulle kunna ta?

Half of our family is home sick, physically ill, due to time change today. Yes, we all took some sort of sleep aid last night to try to help, but we're #ActuallyAutistic sensitive folk. There will also be an increase in car crashes and heart attacks this week due to time change. How is this a minor issue not worth bothering to fix? #TimeChange

I know it's become popular these days to complain about the DST time change, but actually…
it's **fucking terrible** and I hate it.

For the first time since the 1960s, the pay disparity between US men and women widened over a two-year period. This is data reported in September 2025 for 2022-2024, the most recent span for which full-year data is available.
And International Womens Day has 23 hours this year. I’m not a fan of pay inequality, or time changes.

Y'all know this, but just a friendly reminder...
If you're doing the time change (even if you aren't_ it's time to swap out smoke alarm batteries.
If you're in Ontario (maybe elsewhere) you need a CO alarm on every storey of homes with a fuel-burning appliance, fireplace, or attached garage.

I'm seeing this #TimeChange issue as an incremental fight.
All the evidence, and my personal sense, is that our current schedule on standard time is what feels best, and #DST is less in tune with my internal clock.
For now I'd take even a move to just stop the clock changes first, then push for one more change (ASAP) to correct to #StandardTime.
A worry though is that politicians will see discomfort with permanent DST as 'failure' and think the remedy is to go back to clock switching.

Oh shit, are we really doing another fucking #TimeChange? Can't we just, not?
Clocks were never meant to jump forward or fall back.
My sleep routine is the least fucked it has been in years, and now you all want to go and ruin everything!!!?!

BC NDP finally telling the US we won't wait, time is ours, so live with it
And to the Canadian Business Council, BC Chamber, and everyone else freaking out about setting a permanent time, fuck off
Time zones are an arbitrary concept anyway, originally set to synch railways, so oligarchs created them
It will be interesting though if the western coastal states force congress to follow - Canada leads

It's official! This Sunday will be the last "leap forward" in BC!
As of next November, the Vancouver time zone in British Columbia, Canada will be referred to as "Pacific Time" and will be -7GMT permanently. (same as Yukon Territory which did this 2 years ago)
The presser was pretty cute actually. They had kids with little clocks, and they danced.
I would have preferred staying at Standard Time, but this will be ok too. It's interesting that Premier Eby made a point of (gently, as there were kids) insisting the delay of 6 years since the overwhelming survey response from British Columbians to eliminate the time change was due to waiting for the US West Coast states to do the same.
Now, BC has decided to push, and to lead by example.
