Going to the Philadelphia Unnamed Film Festival. Me and my spouse went last year and had a great time. Disappointed to learn there is a short that has AI involved in it today, though. If you're going, please join me in rating it a zero and demand no AI in film festivals.
The other films have been great so far. A great story about the troubles of vampirism, rewatching shlocky 80s horror the Oracle, seeing great shorts. Just wish it wasn't marred by AI.

Elon Musk’s X is apparently getting money from some pretty shady people.
A federal judge ordered Tuesday that a list of investors who helped fund Musk’s $44 billion takeover of X, formerly Twitter, in October 2022 be #unsealed.
Buried among the lengthy list of nearly 100 investors are several particularly troubling figures.
One entity listed is Sean Combs Capital, LLC—better known as #Sean “#Diddy” #Combs, the rapper who has been accused of rape, assault, forcible drugging, and even implicated in a sex trafficking operation.
“I don’t know if you know this, but #Puff is an investor in Twitter,” Musk said, using Combs’s nickname. “You know, he’s a good friend of mine, we text a lot.”
The list also includes several 🔸Silicon Valley entities run by billionaires like Musk himself and backing Donald Trump in the 2024 election.
One of the first names included is 🔸Andreessen Horowitz, a venture capital firm run by #Marc #Andreessen and #Ben #Horowitz, who recently announcedthat they were backing Trump in 2024.
“It doesn’t have anything to do with the big issues that people care about,” Andreessen claimed, making clear that he was ignoring Trump’s platform on immigration and abortion, for a more favorable view on issues like crypto

Large language models, LLMs, have seen a huge rise in popularity in the past year. So has, unfortunately, the nickname AI: artificial intelligence.
Could we please not use the word intelligence to describe LLMs — unless, of course, we wish to describe their complete lack of such a trait. Intelligence has obviously been used in the invention and implementation of these LLMs, and we may have come an impressively long way since the ELIZA “psychotherapist” program in the sixties, but there is absolutely nothing that warrants the terms intelligent or intelligence when describing the LLMs.
Just stop it!
The acronym LLM and its expansion Large Language Model don't say a lot about the function, especially for someone who has only encountered the term AI, so here on the first day of the hopefully increasingly peaceful year 2024, let me suggest an acronym that rolls off the tongue and expands to an accurate description of the output:
