  1. There have been posts talking about the law suit dismissal, but since her name and photo are already out there, I feel like I want to highlight HOW FUCKING BRAVE Elsie Dominguez is and how much of a debt we who want a just democratic society owe her.

Last I heard a stat, it was something like 1 out of 3 women are raped in their lives. I've been raped more than once. I always thought I'd report it, but when "my community" wasn't there for me, I didn't. I knew I wouldn't be believed and I didn't have the money for a lawsuit. I knew the stress would make my disability worse.

"“Things don’t change unless someone’s willing to fight, and, no, we didn’t ultimately have a success here, but I think every time someone like Elsie is brave enough to raise their hand and fight injustice, it makes a difference,” said Dominguez’s lawyer, Christine Dunn.

It also makes “a dent in the institutional indifference” to tolerate such behavior, she said."

  2. Stars & Stripes reported on a rape ("allegedly") perpetrated by the captain of a merchant marine captain on a visiting merchant marine engineer. The accused captain was suspended with pay while the woman he drugged and raped (abusing the master key for the ship) had to take unpaid time off in order to be able to get any therapy. A judge just ruled this criminal act should be treated under the workers comp system (which itself is an employer-friendly system to limit damage for work injuries...it's not about criminal acts like rape).

Hegseth installs active military (with no journalistic experience) into a high position in Stars and Stripes, which he claims is too "woke".

  3. Has a Matriarchy ever really existed? And what exactly does "Matriarchy" even mean? Why are so many people afraid of women having more power?

What if there’s no such thing?

Jeffries is like Jim Clyburn, Jay-Z, Clarence Thomas. they want you to believe that putting a blackface on #fascism #patriarchy #capitalism and #whiteSupremacy, you can make them acceptable. and if anybody’s gonna be doing the blackfacing, it better be them.
