Spoilers Ahead. I’m going based on my memory, i haven’t done a reread in a while.
Rebecca herself said that dragon’s are not trustworthy. Which makes sense, why would Baide bond with Jack Fucking Barlowe? Why would Panchek be allowed to give information to the Venin?
I keep thinking about the initial moment that Violet bonded her dragons and how that caused an uproar. Even thought it’s an unprecedented moment, isn’t the point of Threshing is that the dragon’s chooses the rider?
I believe the brother Xaden mentions at the end of Onyx Storm is Dain. Looking back on the battle where Brennan heals Mira via Solane’s Siphon signet. Solane siphoned from Dain mentioning that he shouldn’t have this much power. It can’t be just from his signet, otherwise they should have used Violet for the siphoning.
I believe that like Jack and Panchek using their position in Basgaith to feed information to the Venin, i believe that Xaden will be doing the opposite. Violet DreamWalks, she could get information from Xaden to fight the Venin.

Faërie ~ Faelings
The Treebard Fairy Quuen banishes the disobedient fae to the hole below the ocean.
Faeries here still cross into our world, by climbing
flying
or swimming on the branches of the light the darkness in the water.
From there the sinkhole extends and crosses until it swallows the earth from the other side.
In the middle of the forest, the banished fae were free to return
They either pushed everyone out
or people were too afraid to approach them, so they departedThe Gàeldīn became the new name for that corrupted patch of forest.
Soon the Faelings had their own queen
This is what happens when they are left to their own devices.She is a reflection of her people
But with the haunting beauty of a female animalShe grew to an abnormal height
A tall fairy among her people
but lacking thickness in the thighs, no birthing allowed for her
Almost a death sentence for a treebard fairy
Her body is brown all over, with a pale-cream underbelly
like an animal
a sweet, sweet lion, sheep or hare
her horns are a darker shade of her exterior color, curved perfectly like as if they had been sanded into shape.She has no eyes on most days
Staring right into the sun, screaming at it with all the internal rage
The sun reinvigorates her eyes.
black cream and goop dither outward and stream down cold cheeks when she isn’t feeling badThis form is not reflected in her people
Instead they walk around with things missing
Missing lower jaws, mouthless faeries scaring anyone who doesn’t look beyond exterior faults
Missing lower arms, a missing eye—or two—more than one thing can go missing“You deteriorate the longer you stay around this corruption.”
This is the punishment
But
Truth is
These particular Fae deteriorate when they are not around love and happiness
They will lose limbs and organs regardless in the face of corruption
But, with love they will last forever
They just need and want an outsider to show them loveTheir throats slide open, tendrils poking out and eager to see you
Don’t hurt him!
He is the last thing you need to run away fromA faerie takes this frightened, wandering boy deeper into the forest

A few weeks before the war
Beneath the capitol city, dragons rested in silence
They were undisturbed
Bound by sleep
Everyone in New York knew dragons existed
American society had begun to open up to the creatures like Italian society had done so many years before
Dragons, both big and small, were a common sight
but steam began hissing up from manholes in New York
and there were missing persons reports that had been filed at the NYPD
Detective Rashner, a lone wolf on missions, was told to investigate the Underground New York Ontario Systems (UNYOS)
the tunnel network is indeed an unfinished underground city that the National Board of Welfare had initiated at the behest of dragons
construction was cancelled due to unknown reasons
Officer Riley guided Detective Rashner to the wide entrance
but that was as far as he could go
Rashner didn’t hesitate to go inside
the underground was dark, misty and humid
armed with only a flash light, a marble and a pistol, he braced the warm dangers of the underground
Rashner encountered the unbelievable. He shined his flash light on what he perceived was a wall. A shriveled white creature snarled at him, and in defense it pounced on Rashner, pinning him to the ground.
The creature tried to douse Rashner in the acid from it’s mouth, but he managed to keep the creature’s mouth closed. His fingers nearly slipped between the dragon’s teeth. He slipped under the dragon and he grabbed his flashlight.
He ran fast, stumbling and looking back. As he progressed down the hall he could hear them hissing. He clicked his flashlight off and stepped lightly. The ground was mushy from mucus, saliva and crap. There was a small light shining from the power box in the corner.
He inched closer and saw the open door. With a peek through it, he saw the main center of the station. Desolate trains had been crashed atop eachother and unconscious bodies were scattered around. Little dragons were cocooning unconscious victims. That’s when he saw their King, not Queen, at the far left at the end of the station.
For Rashner, it was a terror to behold.
Docile red and green eyes staring into nothingness, the King was the one creating the eggs.
Through this shocking revelation, Detective Rashner could finally conclude that the Vessel is on Earth. He could successfully speculate they were creating the virus. As a major in dragon biology and history, Rashner knew there had to be a human female nearby.
“Send everything you got, including Alpha Team. I’ve just discovered the Vessel…in the living flesh,” he whispered into his walkie talkie, “send in the Fire and Water squad, pronto.”

“HOLY F—”
Rashner’s shouts echoed through the station as one of the Dragons nearly stung him. This dragon was a giant arachnid-type with a feminine body structure and a curly mane down her head to her neck. She struck at him with her sharp talon, but he dodged and heard a low rumbling in the Vessel’s chest.
“Treat our visitor to the Dragon’s welcome.”
The second he spoke, the little dragons that were cocooning had followed Rashner out the room.
Rashner ran out the service tunnels as fast as he could. He stumbled upon the train tracks and dropped his flashlight. He didn’t care to pick it up; he wanted to make it out alive, but in the mix up he wandered into a Wyverns’ room.
The goo and mucus on their bodies were helping them stick to the ceiling so they could rest comfortably.
The exit was a few steps away.
He ran towards it, the light coming closer, and when his feet touched the urban pavement he felt instant freedom.
The little dragons stopped in their tracks and watched as Rashner ran away. He could’ve sworn they were chirping in glee.
Within a few weeks time, a virus had broken out into the city. The virus segregated itself to specific people that lived in certain parts of New York, and Rashner was no exception.
He later found himself quarantined and examined by scientists. Riley had to fill in during his absence. Was it irony that he became this way?
Virus pendemics were becoming a hot topic in video games around 2010-2014. I wanted to do my own virus story, and this (and the revamped Dino Macro) was a result of my efforts. In the stories, the virus was made to wipe out New York before the war. The virus, UNYOS, was developed by Ashuton, Rico, Thomas and Charlie. The dragons living in the train station are different than the ones above ground.
UNYOS itself changes human physiology. It imbues them with draconic DNA while also decaying their body and keeping them alive.
If you are wondering who the guy on the cover is, he is one of the dragons who works on Rashner after he is captured. That story comes later.
2019 notes: I believe this and the UNYOS storyline were inspired by PROTOTYPE, another game I loved. Alex and Elizabeth Greene were fascinating to me. I liked Elizabeth’s design and the fact that she was old. ‘Young but old creator of a deadly virus causes destruction of a city, know she’s a badass, and looks like a post apocalyptic kinda cutie metal-head’ is a vibe I like. I like destructive old-young people.

A Calm Walk with The Last Musketeer (EOD Episode 4)
Firenze, Italy
(This is written like a partial outline/prose)
Nari and Ashuton walk together, holding hands, as they go to an art gallery hotel to stay for a while. Ashuton made sure his schedule was clear for the weekend.
Inside the lobby, the receptionist—a Poki dragon, said their room was changed in the system last minute. She said they can still pay normal room price as compensation.
Ashuton growls but doesn’t make a fuss about it.
Nari says it’s fine and that they can get a big room next time.
“Oh it’s big,” said the Poki dragon, “it’s just… one bed.”
Nari’s eyes went wide and she drops her plushie.
Ashuton went “ooooh…”
He takes her by the hand and they go up.
Buuut she drags him back so she can grab her plushie.
Later, the both of them lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling.
Ash turns over and says “I am really sorry this happened.”
Nari said “it’s fine. It’s fine.”
She shifts a little bit, “just trying to resist facilitating… you know…”
“Oh?” Ashuton raises an eyebrow, “No I don’t know.”
“Yes you do.”
“Do I?”
“Oh stop it. You’re playing dumb on purpose.”
“Mmmmmmmmmm no I’m not. I don’t know what you could be facilitating.”
“The S-word.”
“The S word?”
“Now I know you’re playing.”
“This soon?” He taps his chin, “hmmmmmm…”
“No, not this soon. I’m not doing that.”
“But you said you were trying to resist facilitating it.”
“I mean—”
“Does that mean you think of me highly enough to, hmmmmm,” he gestures his hand around, “engage in said S-word activity?”
“No—I mean yes—but no I’m not doing that right now.”
“I know, I know. I’m just honored that you think of me so highly and entrust me with your body that way.”
Nari covers her face, “Oh my god stop you’re making me blush.”
“My apologies,” he says in a sing song and kisses her on the lips.
“I do ask, if we do that… thing… I want it to be all natural.”
“But, you’d get pregnant? Are you sure?”
She nods, “Yes. I want to experience all of you without inhibitors.”
He nods and smiles.
“We should get going.”
“Yeah.”
Outside, they walk around by the water. Caterina hangs on his back,
They get drinks at a small restaurant-bar, Ash orders draconic alcohol, he says he doesn’t drink often but he’s feeling like causing mayhem today. He turns his back to grab some extra plates off the counter and comes back to half of his drink being gone. He is so shocked, his mouth is wide open. Nari, on the other hand, was smiling wryly and said “I don’t drink either but I want to experience the mayhem with you.”
He drinks his half, telling her how shocked he is and that it is not meant for humans.
An hour later and they’re both arguing playfully over who would win a fight. Ash says Nari can’t beat him because he is stronger but she argues she can beat him in other ways, like a battle of wits. Ashuton says his mind is fortified and she scoffs and says “no it’s not.” And he says “yes it is.” And they go back and forth.
“*hic* no it’s nooooooot.”
“*hic* yes it *hic* is.”
Someone says “why not a sword fight?”
Nari puts her hands up in jest and says “yes!”
“You would lose in the first five seconds.” He says
She shakes her head and leans in and says “Nah, I’d win.” (Gojo reference)
“Yeah. You’d win the award for quickest fail.”
“I can last ten seconds.”
“Nari. You can last at much better things.” He says with a smile and taps her on the nose.
She’s also smiling and says “wanna bet?”
She leans back and says “ten seconds is all I need.”
Another person says “I put $10 on Nari lasting ten seconds!”
And she points at them and says, “see! Someone has faith in me.”
“Or they have a lot of money to spare,” he says as he takes a sip of orange juice.
“Let’s set it up in the garden!” Says another person.
“Yeah!”
Nari gets up and says “okay! But I’ll need my own costume. I want to dress like a musketeer.”
Ashuton chokes on his drink as he laughs. “I’ll tell Rico to bring my old outfit.”
“Wait you just… have that on hand?” She says, confused.
“Yeah.”
Rico arrives with the musketeer outfit (hat with a feather included) and Nari gets dressed. Nari gets dressed in the bathroom and comes back out with the costume on. Rico gives her a rapier he brought from home.
“This is my old trusty weapon. Try not to cut yourself with it, bambina.”
Nari scoffs, “whatever. You sound like Thomas.”
“I do?” Rico looks on in bewilderment.
Nari and Ash take their positions. They withdraw their swords and wait until someone shouts “go!”
Ash instantly disarms Nari With his sword and as he points the tip at her neck, Nari had put her hands up.
“Five seconds.” He says.
Nari frowns. “Bleh.”
Some folks say “awwwwww.”
Ash says “you forget, I was born in an era of swords and carriages.”
He yanks Nari close and leans her down to kiss her.
Rico rolls his eyes and the crowd cheers for them. Caterina taps her tail on the ground happily.
Ash flies Nari home, wobbling as he flew. She gives him a good night kiss and he smiles and tells her goodnight.

If you could erase one trend from history, what would it be?
It’s been a while since we did a Dragon Street Talk episode. We’ve become despondent. In pain. Suffering.
Anyways let’s dive in! We ask 3 dragons what trends would they erase from history.

We really need to stop thinking dragons are sex gods. It would cut down on humans stealing us and our children from our families. That one movie from 1959 started a dangerous trend where dragons wore feathers as a way of attracting humans for sex. So many babies were abandoned in the coming decades. So many deaths. I’m so tired.

That one youtuber started a trend of unboxing Magic cards. Humans saw the money and thought it was good. Now I can barely get Magic cards.
