  1. Morgen om 9.00 uur is er zoals elke zaterdagochtend een #Parkrun in #StadsparkGroningen 🏃🏼🏃🏻‍♀️
5 km, voor alle niveaus & snelheden.

  2. A few of us took a trip up to Stannington this evening to take part in a trial event for a prospective new #parkrun - four laps on a hilly course, so definitely not as fast as my usual at Hillsborough, but still fun.

It was great to see so many of the Hillsborough regulars helping out, too. Definitely one I would come back to once it's officially running :)

(just a shame it won't count towards my parkrun total!)

  3. #parkrun police finished off one of the nicest and friendly events in Germany.

If the decision stays I'm going to put my volunteering on hold after my run at @riemerparkrun

At least parkrun Germany feels more and more like an overly bureaucratic police state, where rules that make maybe sense for 500+ people events, are enforced and spies are sent to blackmail parkruns that follow not all rules perfectly.

  4. At Clapham #parkrun last Saturday, three people were running it four-legged. They finished!

  5. Just in case anyone thought that Terries were completely uncultured, the RSA has a rather fine exhibition in Hawick. And for those who indulge in Park Runs, you can combine them both with what I think is a newer Park Run and passes by the museum (decent coffee and cakes in the park).

Some interesting workshops people might like to have a look at as well.

  6. CW: Boring running, food and alc

Up the bum, 7k run (as the old expression goes).

It was HOT and MUGGY (you MUG! Don't mug me off! Get out ma pub!). Also my legs were very very tired from doing what I am now telling people was a half marathon on Saturday and not a #ParkRun followed by an all day 13k pub run with 7 pitstops at various establishments, after which I made food from around the world (cheeseburgers with noodles for some reason) and then fell asleep in the garden, ironically listening to Sound Garden (morelike SLEEP Garden, ammirite? 🙌😎).

But I battled through regardless - 7k trail run in hot humid conditions with tired legs and now I feel fucking fantastic. Hooray! Although at the beginning it was not fun. But this is the way. And now to home, showered and tasked with making a nice but healthy dinner. And so I hath made basically picky kebabs. Bits and bobs. Behold!

  7. Last week, we hat a super professional photographer at our #parkrun - his photos are fantastic (please ignore the dry gras):

  8. Shaved another second off #parkrun PB yesterday at Maryborough. A 22:22 in my 346th run

  9. Over the moon with my time at Hackney Marshes parkrun this morning! It may have taken six years but I finally got a new shiny 5k personal best of 20:17! 😁 Given the drought in London,, perhaps it made the grassy sections more like tarmac. fitpub.social/activities/acb9b #UKRunChat #running #parkrun

  10. For #parkrun today, we went to a new-to-us run over in Darlington. What a nice park! Good turnout as well, with a particularly inspiring "dancercise" class booming tunes and encouragement from a bandstand. A heck of a short steep hill before the finish and a real slow start made for an interesting run!

  11. Applied the radix sort methodology to the #parkrun tokens. All present and correct again. Thanks to @nowster for telling me about this method. I think this definitely saved time and felt easier 👍🏻

  12. I managed to be first in today’s #parkrun because the fast people didn’t show up.

  13. For my 11th #parkrun I ventured somewhere new, to get the “Tourist Streak” badge for 5 different locations in a row.

#Cranbrook was a small and friendly event, in a linear park alongside a new build estate.

Being flat, and not excessively hot today, I got both a new personal best, and under 40 minutes for the first time ever: 39:36 (for a recorded 5.11km).

Part of the PB was realising that walking for 10 seconds every so often rested my muscles such that I could maintain my high average pace.

  14. A late #parkrun report from last week …

My 1st parkrun was with friends, so it was pleasing that my 10th was with family.

We went to #Lanhydrock while on our family holiday in Cornwall.

The course was pretty but brutal, the last 1.5km is a relentless and steep hill. There was no mention of that on the course description, which seems bordering on fraud rather than an oversight, given how hard every single participant found it!

    I had a fry-up afterwards with my non-running relatives 🙂

  15. Well after last week’s Parkrun mishap in which nobody made it to the turning point, this week I set out to marshal the turnaround again and took a tumble en route and badly cut my knee! Another marshal kindly stood in for me and a runner volunteered at last minute to fill their spot so everything was able to go ahead and the fantastic local urgent care had me patched up and on my way before the event had even finished 🙌 I made it back in time to thank everybody. Better luck next time?

  16. Managed a sub-30 minute #parkrun this morning for the third time ever, and the first time since 2024. Finish time of 29:48

I got a good night's sleep last night, felt good when I woke up, and the weather was cloudy and much cooler this morning. Amazing what a difference that makes.

Scott, one of our volunteers, had brought along cake to share with the volunteer team, but had far too much and was offering it to runners, so I had some to celebrate :)

  17. Back to the hill after a week away to let the balloons do their thing. I'll take squeaking over the 70% age grading. Again progressive in mile, but not km splits, but it's a lot easier to do when you spend the first half going up and the second half coming back down again.

  18. Not feeling great the last couple of days, so volunteered at Clapham Common #parkrun today rather than run. Hot but lots of happy people. Two very enthusiastic first timers told me their life-story.

  19. Done the #parkrun Although it has cooled down a bit, it was still too warm. My dreams of a 30 min 5k are long gone. Just jogging instead of walking is an achievement these days.

  20. Hope everyone had a lovely #parkrun this morning. I certainly enjoyed a coffee a là the old days 🥰

  21. First #parkrun where I’ve wondered whether the outdoor exercise is actually doing me good. The smoky air was the main topic of conversation 🙁

  22. #parkrun
    #Hastings
After a couple of weeks away it's still too hot for a run so more than happy to volunteer this morning.
Great to see so many people enjoying parkrun & parkwalk.
Walked past the wreck of The Amsterdam

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amsterda

And ended up marshalling in the famous Bottle Alley.
    Enjoy your running.

  23. #ParkRun 131 done and DOOOONE. I apparently haven't done one since 11 July? Whatever have I been upto? Must have been busy or something. Or assume it's just been too hot? It was QUITE PLEASANT and I got to hang out with the Trishster for the first time in ages and it was positive and needed. I'm feeling pretty good. And now....... It's the day of the running club summer pub run. It's an all-dayer. 7 pubs. 7 hours. 12k. Only the strongest survive. I'm very much looking forward to it. I hope you have a terrific day lined up. I salute you. May you go in peace and glory, friends. X

  24. Taking advantage of a missing crew member with a parkrun sandwich this morning. Cooler on the run down but there is still a lot of heat in the ground, out of the breeze it was still hard going. The usual 4km down 5km back and now some bramble wrangling.

  25. Rather a cloudy day for #parkrun at Watermead Country Park but the cool breeze is really appreciated. Was not fast, but felt pretty good!
