Er habe mit seiner detailliert vorgetragenden Anzeige gegen Scholz und Tschentscher wegen der Cum-Ex-Geschäfte gelernt, dass Staatsanwälte einen erstaunlichen Unwillen an den Tag legen können, wenn sie etwas partout nicht verfolgen wollen.

Ruby has a peculiarity: when you define a variable in a conditional expression (if / unless / case / ternary if), it becomes visible from then on.
It's as if it was assigned nil before the conditional expression, and you don't need to explicitly declare it.
But if you define a variable in a block, it is defined in the local scope and is no longer visible outside the block.

#Mastodon should make it as easy to filter specific things out of your feed as it does to follow those same specific things. The fact that the difference in effort here is so stark makes it feel like a dark design pattern - maybe even to the point of being abusive to the user.
