Another day another 8km walk, took it easy today, our dog is like the Duracell Bunny, however I think even he was struggling after 60km of walkies in 4 days

There is a history to this lake, Donald Campbell died here trying to set a new water speed record in the 1960s (YouTube it)

Today I found out that if I add tailscal to a #netmaker #woreguard VPN, by default the routing allows the remote access to my #tailscale lan from the #Wireguard #vpn

The complexity around security of even a #homelab has got to the point troubleshooting is a nightmare.

I set #netmaker up on #digitalocean this weekend then suddenly I started getting #certificate issues on the dashboard.

Thought it was #cloudflare so moved the #nameserver back to #hover turns out is was #nextdns blocking the site because "reasons"

a quick add to an Allowlist and everything is fine with the world again..

As a manager, I like to at least have the basics that my team are doing, I last did terraform 3 years ago, so tonight I've installed #proxmox and setup a #cloud-init #ubuntu server then created some #terraform to deploy 3 nodes.

A little bit of troubleshooting, but I got there.. and its now in #gitlab

Next step ssh on and run some ansible and wrap it all up as a #gitlab #pipeline

Fully intend to write this up as a #blog post.. Its handy stuff.

Been trying the #tidal 360 Reality Audio as I have a 60 day free pass to the service. I am using my Sony MX3 headset, photographed my ears (it's a thing) got the tidal app optimised, found 360 tracks, and can't hear the difference..

I put this down to either being old or not really caring, not sure which. I've got 59 days left..

Yet again, #Saturday morning, brain kicks in with a startlingly great answer to a work problem and I know at 6am if I don't write it down, by 8am this idea will be fully erased and only a symbolic link will be left to a dead space

So I get up, and draw out the whole thing on my Chromebook so I can refer back to it on Monday

Now I'm wide awake knowing I will be knackered later.

So I was looking at the #smartplugs I have at home, and ended up down a spaghetti loop which ended up with #homeassistant feeding #grafana data which made a dashboard which shows the #energy consumption on each smart plug.
