I would rather have it as a Zed Plugin I can use to work alongside it, rather than switching between both.
Plus, that shit needs onboarding. Took a while to wrap my head around.

#GitLab at work got updated to v18+ and I see that rounded corners are back in vogue. They used to be very popular in #MediaWiki monobook circa 2008. Italian #Wikiquote never removed them, so we're now fashionable again by staying still. :)

- Behaviour: “Surround text selection when typing quotes or brackets”
- Time preferences: “Use relative times”Issues overview:
- Display → Your preferences: “Open items in side panel”
Any issue:
- More actions (three vertical dots) → View options: “Truncate descriptions”
Very good job scattering preferences all over the place!

I just released winstant-gitlab-runner an instant, very easy to use, #gitlab #gitlab_ci runner for Windows. CI jobs run inside a Linux virtual machine managed by wslc.exe (new WSL container stack). No Docker, no annoying registration, very easy graphical setup, including registration.

Anyone seeing issues on Gitlab CI w.r.t Docker image creation. Been seeing this in both open-source and client projects today.
As far as I am aware it started yesterday and the error is:
"ERROR: failed to build: failed to solve: failed to register layer: openat dev/console: permission denied"

I ended up setting up #GitLab #Runner on my holiday-and-not-work Windows based ThinkPad. I did it with a twist though.
Behold: Instant GitLab Runner for Windows - aka winstant-gitlab-runner https://gitlab.com/zygoon/winstant-gitlab-runner/-/releases/
GitLab runner itself runs as a windows binary. Individual jobs use #WSLc - new containers powered by #WSL virtual machine.
The whole thing is very light-weight, easy to use and does not need docker to be installed.

I feel like it may be time to get rid of this gitlab install.
Just from the utilization alone it either got hacked and is crypto mining or it is just so bloated and full of pointless garbage code running that it is just not worth to keep around.
All I'm using it is to serve repos. I'm not even using the CI/CD stuff...
