Anyone on #homeassistant know the best way to integrate #shelly #smartplugs? I’ve added them directly and get these errors when #hass tries to update their firmware.
I have a full #MQTT system so I wonder if it’s just better to route them through that. I’d want all the power metrics still, and be able to use those in the hass energy dashboard. Would also need control over the socket power itself.

Basically it's useful for lights, Christmas lights, and the like. But not much else.

Just got my #shelly #smartplugs working again, after me having forgotten to reconnect them again to the new wifi. Not sure I really wanted to see my office’s idle usage 😅

Read that a Teckin smart plug contains one of those ESP chips and can be reflashed to open source software. Oh look, that's what the Scamazon own brand plugs are. #HomeAutomation #SmartPlugs #Privacy

After fumbling with some no-name brand #smartplugs and #mesh network shenanigans, I was able to get #eve added to my #homekit network through #thread network. It was easy and quick. Perhaps it's a bug with #homekit and/or #homeapp but I see that plug in off state even though the Eve app shows it as on. I can't even turn it on from the Home app for whatever reason. Anyone else see this issue? #smarthome

So I was looking at the #smartplugs I have at home, and ended up down a spaghetti loop which ended up with #homeassistant feeding #grafana data which made a dashboard which shows the #energy consumption on each smart plug.
I know there are many different and probably better ways of doing this, I learned a few things though..
