Lembra quando a Google lançou Chromecast (software e hardware)? Pois é. Ainda existe Chromecast nos aparelhos com Android/Google TV, ainda existem aplicativos compatíveis com Chromecast no app Google TV do Android.
Mas se quiser transmitir a tela inteira do seu celular, tem que usar aplicativo de terceiros porque a própria Google não faz isso mais.

Google (along with Chinese IoT spyware, Samsung, and others) now try to use their hardcoded DNS servers.
My network now fools them all, they think they get a response from their DNS, but it's really my PiHole that answers! NAT + Masquerading FTW!

Wenn man u.a. Geräte wie #Chromecast im Netz hat, dann merkt man schnell das diese viel...sehr viel per Multicast reden. Die einen blocken es und ich fange sie auf mit dem #mDNS Dienst. Auch bekannt als #ZeroConf, #Avahi oder #bonjour

Platforma streamingowa Netflix wprowadza istotną zmianę w funkcjonowaniu swoich aplikacji mobilnych, która bezpośrednio wpłynie na wygodę obsługi serwisu.
Firma zdecydowała się na wycofanie wsparcia dla technologii Google Cast w przypadku większości nowoczesnych telewizorów i przystawek multimedialnych.
Zgodnie z informacjami potwierdzonymi na stronach pomocy technicznej serwisu, użytkownicy nie będą już mogli inicjować odtwarzania materiałów z poziomu smartfona na urządzeniach, które posiadają zainstalowaną natywną aplikację Netflixa. Do tej pory funkcja ta pozwalała na wygodne przeglądanie biblioteki na telefonie i szybkie przesyłanie wybranego tytułu na duży ekran. Teraz gigant streamingu wymusza korzystanie z fizycznego pilota dołączonego do telewizora oraz interfejsu aplikacji telewizyjnej.
Ograniczenia funkcjonalności
Zmiana ta jest wdrażana wraz z najnowszymi aktualizacjami aplikacji mobilnych. Jak wynika z doniesień branżowych, możliwość „castowania” (przesyłania obrazu) pozostanie dostępna jedynie dla starszych urządzeń lub tych specyficznych sprzętów, które nie posiadają własnej, wbudowanej aplikacji Netflixa (np. starsze generacje Chromecast). W przypadku nowoczesnych Smart TV z systemami Google TV, Tizen czy WebOS, ikona przesyłania po prostu zniknie lub przestanie być aktywna dla danego odbiornika.
Konsekwencja wcześniejszych działań
Decyzja ta wpisuje się w szerszą strategię firmy, polegającą na zamykaniu ekosystemu. Już dawno Netflix usunął wsparcie dla technologii AirPlay na urządzeniach z systemem iOS, co uniemożliwiło użytkownikom iPhone’ów przesyłanie obrazu na telewizory kompatybilne z tym standardem.
Obecny ruch eliminuje zatem ostatnią powszechną metodę sterowania odtwarzaniem z poziomu urządzenia mobilnego na telewizorach Smart TV.

Yesterday the #GoogleTV Streamer I ordered was finally delivered. I would say it is worth the upgrade from the #Chromecast just for the better SOC and increased storage. I like the hardware design and improved remote too. However, if I didn't have $90 of Google Store credit left I would have bought the #Onn 4K Pro instead as I think it's a better value.
