I wonder. bc it was kinda nice having the gui installation capability and this feels like a downgrade. Hm. But even if it is some of the above, and have them force users to the terminal for *initial installation* it doesn't make sense to force users to the terminal for *software updates* as software updates include security stuff that would be beneficial for all users even "dummies" or whatever. Like, sure, maybe the initial installation should require terminal, but the UI should support software updates via the gui.

The #Steam integration with #ChromeOS is a wonder. I really have to commend all the work #Valve and #Google have done.

I installed Steam and some lighter games on my #Chromebook and the installation was seamless without any hitches or tinkering.

One videogame (Wargroove) was missing its intro video but that was about it.

Steam took care of installing and automatically selecting all the #Linux runtimes and #Proton versions. I wasn't involved in any way.

the linux version of chrome is essentialy private space for chromeOS, because its essentially a version of the chrome browser that's *not* tied to the operating system itself.

this was not the case with lacros, which, while allowing multiple chrome profiles, was still tied to the os.

and that is why, i think, google should legitimately make and maybe market something more like *that* as a "thing".

it's better than lacros.

draft - chromeOS needs a static grid for icons/apps. the launcher is a grid but you can destroy the manual layout with one click. the shelf doesn't have a one click destroy manual layout option, but its one long line and not a grid. plus you can't pin an app folder there either.

if you're going to let us destroy our manual layout with one click, at least give us an option to "sort manually" in addition to "sort by color" and "sort by name".

Decided to go with the #Penoval USI 2.0 stylus with my #LenovoDuet 3.

The pen itself feels really nice - slightly more slender than my Lenovo Pen. Love that it recharges off USB-C.

The pencil tip is also really nice.

It doesn't fit in the stylus holder, unfortunately, but it DOES magnet nicely to the crease in the back of the case.

Writes really smoothly. Haven't had it long enough to test battery life.
