I haven't seen the need to replace my #chromebook yet. I bought it to handle email, social media apps, language courses, read news and web browsing. Machine is four years old and works well enough for me. Wife wants to buy me a tablet, but I keep asking her why as I have devices that are good enough.

Is it fast? No, but it is fast enough to do what I want.

Does it have enough storage? Yes, for what I want to use it for there is more than enough space. 64Gb drive and only 44 Gb used.

Will I upgrade? Eventually, but as long as the O/S itself is supported and it doesn't break I will keep it. Being cheap it won't be a premium model, probably a mid range.

Will it be a chromebook or Googlebook? That will depend on the specs, prices and what crap they bundle with it. If I must I will buy a used lower end laptop and reimage it to #mxlinux and use it like I use the chromebook. Strip out all of the extra apps to just VPN, browser, email, editor (probably #greany), music player and VLC.

I have a gaming laptop using #mxlinux and it is set for the heavy duty tasks of coding, writing, documentation and newsletters along with photo/video editing and games. My #MSI box for much the same thing and holds all of my photos/documents.

#Accessibility hive mind, I have some questions about #ChromeVox as well as #Chromebook accessibility & #usability in general. I'm working with a #PixelBook that has never been used. ChromeVox is telling me to use commands involving the search key as a modifier, but these seem not to work as any use of the search key invokes #Google #Gemini. What's going on here? Additionally, how are #blind people using #Chromebooks? In what tasks do they excel. In what tasks do they fall short? Any input and/or information would be greatly appreciated.
