I’m very nearly speechless.
I’ve been to Burning Man, back in the before times (pre-9/11), and I am having such a difficult time imagining the process by which this came to pass.
I feel sad.

Doug Ford’s buddies and the federally-controlled port authority have an airport expansion idea where the noise and pollution are so bad, keeping your windows open might be a problem. Not exaggerating.

The Port Authority sent a letter to the Planning & Housing Committee requesting future waterfront residents agree to “warning clauses” about airport noise, and suggests buildings be designed so windows can stay closed.

I listen to podcasts on my cycling commute and yesterday one American host mentioned curling, but he made me suspicious of every fact he’s ever stated when he said “they have that block of ice and they’ve got their mops”.

Mayor Chow dropped in to visit our 2SLGBTQIA+ curling league this afternoon, little surprise visit. She was surprised to hear the city owns three curling clubs - we don’t cross her desk much I guess! - and was impressed at our queer curling leagues in operation since 1962!

Spent the afternoon checking out Rock League, the new professional curling league that’s starting up this year with a special one week first season. Great fun, lots of great curling and merch and activities, and lots of high-tech cameras too - they tried hard to assemble a quality first go at it. Nifty!

Doug Ford’s idea to fill in part of the harbour for jets requires an extension of 557m — longer than an Eaton Centre, four full subway trains, or twenty streetcars, just to reach the recommended runway for Embraer’s small jets.

Ontario Line construction site mismanagement led this week to someone being run over in a crosswalk just blocks from my home, in a residential area with hundreds of kids.

1/ The bus (29 / 929) I take to the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays has a diversion due to emergency sewer work. Diversion started Monday. The diversion changes where I need to get off the bus.
Tuesday I saw four different behaviours for the same route (different diversion paths, different stopping patterns on the diversion, and in- or out-of-service). Understandable.
Today things should be more consistent, right? Sadly no.
