Mayor Chow dropped in to visit our 2SLGBTQIA+ curling league this afternoon, little surprise visit. She was surprised to hear the city owns three curling clubs - we don’t cross her desk much I guess! - and was impressed at our queer curling leagues in operation since 1962!

Toronto’s “Rock, Button, Scissors” curling league for queer women and trans folk is holding its first bonspiel in January!

Tonight at the closing banquet for my LGBTQ curling league of these past 13 years, the exec committee I’ve been on for 11 years sneakily surprised me!

I was never a sports guy, and curling has really been an incredible thing for me. I have made such amazing lifelong friends and can’t imagine ever not curling.
