The Trumpenreich's quest to massively expand the US Gestapo really is the "gift" that keeps on giving. Recently I wrote about how ICE was spending the billions of dollars the GOP just gave them, on an objectively fascist recruiting drive to entice more nazis to join ICE with perks and a signing bonus up to $50K. At the time, I theorized that these massive signing bonuses were designed to attract recruits with experience in professional violence because there's no shortage of unqualified racist goons willing to brutalize and terrorize brown people for a paycheck in what has always been, a white supremacist America.

Well, if a couple of recent stories in the news cycle are to be believed, I may have overestimated the attractiveness of hunting down Hispanic people in the streets of "liberal" cities, even for American racists, because the Gestapo appears to be getting increasingly desperate to find a mere 10,000 new fascist thugs.

How desperate? Desperate enough to recruit goons over the ICE age cap of forty, and allowing recruits as young as 18 to join the Gestapo. And in a move that I'm sure is unrelated, washed up TV actor and frothing nazi Dean Cain, who is over forty, immediately signed up for duty.

Keeping in mind that I don't think the major priority for Americans who don't want to live in a fascist dictatorship run by the dumbest nazis in the country should be "our nazis are unqualified and poorly trained" - turning armed, eighteen year old racists loose inside a secret police force that is conducting an ethnic cleansing operation, while actively violating our Civil Rights and ignoring the law, is categorically one of the dumbest, most dangerous things the Trump regime has ever proposed. Furthermore, I would encourage readers once again not to sleep on the objectively fucking Nazi tone DHS is using to advertise this. Between the artificially aged AI slop mimicking Third Reich recruiting posters, to tying "defending the homeland" with the father son relationship in the same way that was so crucial to early Nazi propaganda, I am pretty sure evoking Nazi Germany during the interwar period was quite intentional.

Still, the point here is that they wouldn't be trying to hire white nationalists right out of high school, or lure their aging fathers to the front lines of a made up war, if better applicants were falling all over themselves to sign up for the Gestapo. Which is why I don't think it's a coincidence that at the exact same time this was going down, noted D-list celebrity Superman actor Dean Cain went on Fox News to talk about the ICE recruiting drive, and then signed up immediately afterwards.

Don't worry however, he also more or less just up and admitted he was doing this to get other aging racists back in the game for the Gestapo.

OK. It is time to debunk some oft-repeated #misinformation about #Socialism / #Marxism / #Communism. A common talking point you will hear from people with #rightwing #political views is that the #Nazis were not on the right; they were actually #leftists. To "prove" this claim, they will point out that the word " #Socialist " was part of the official name for the #NaziParty. The full name for the Party was the "National SOCIALIST German Workers' Party". Boom! Argument over! Right? Wrong. The claim that the Nazis were not on the #politicalright—that they were really on the #politicalleft—is a #RevisionistHistory" LIE. ⬇️

The inclusion of the term "Socialist" was actually a very #cynical ploy, meant to deceive #Germans into supporting the Party. You see, in the early 1900s, Socialism was skyrocketing in popularity with people around the world belonging to the #Proletariat (more commonly referred to as the #workingclass). Back then, the word "Socialism" did not have all the negative connotation it has now. To the average worker, "Socialism" was regarded warmly and was thought to be a pro-worker ideology (which it absolutely is, regardless of all the attempts to smear it). The Nazi Party very intentionally appropriated the term in an attempt to win the hearts and minds of working class Germans who maybe had not read the Marxist #literature but, through #CulturalOsmosis, had a vague notion that Socialism was good.

In reality, the Nazis were staunchly opposed to Socialism and its concept of working folks of all races, in all countries united in #solidarity with each other. REMEMBER, the Nazis were horrifically #racist! They wanted to conquer the world and rule over any "nonGermans" as #oppressors. This #racism and aspiration to conquer the world were in direct opposition with the principles of Marxism.

I've spent much of the past eight and a half years avoiding unproductive arguments with people who insist that "you can't compare Trumpism to Hitler and the Nazis" despite knowing that those people rarely, if ever, have much understanding of what made the Nazis the definitive genocidal fascist movement in human history. At some point however, you have to stop relying on Godwin's Law to avoid naming the beast when the Trump administration continues to actively borrow policies and methods of operation from the actual Nazi Party; particularly when those policies ended in the literal fucking Holocaust last time.

To understand what I'm talking about, let's take a look at what Trump's Gestapo (ICE) Director had to say at a recent "border security" conference about his hopes to logistically optimize the process of snatching up migrants for deportation in the streets of America:

"While speaking a 2025 Border Security Expo in Phoenix, Arizona on Tuesday, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement acting Director Todd Lyons outlined a chilling vision for how deportations in the United States ought to be carried out: with the swift efficiency of Amazon Prime.

"We need to get better at treating this like a business," said Lyons, explaining that he wants to see a deportation process that is "like [Amazon] Prime, but with human beings." His comments citing the e-commerce giant's subscription servicewere first reported by the Arizona Mirror.

"This is a chilling example of drawing inspiration from Nazi Germany to deploy logistics for mass deportation and ethnic cleansing," wrote journalist Luis Feliz Leon in response to Lyons' statement."

Although this article doesn't mention it, other sources online (https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/apr/09/ice-todd-lyons-deporation-amazon) have revealed that part of what Lyons is talking about here is a plan to "implement a system of trucks that rounds up immigrants for deportation in a system similar to how Amazon delivers packages around the US."

First of all, this is nightmare dystopian fascist shit that absolutely mirrors the process of rounding up Jewish people in Nazi Germany. Additionally Lyons is implying that the US government intends to deport so many people, that it would make sense logistically, to requisition a fleet of trucks for that ongoing purpose. Finally, don't sleep on the fact that Lyons is talking about running ICE like a business and modeling its operations on Amazon, because for the people who own or invest in a private prison sector getting filthy stinking rich on anti-migrant policies and ICE detention contracts, this absolutely is a business; it might be costing the American taxpayer public money, but it's making a whole lot of nazis huge bank.

Ultimately however, I think the most important part of the story is what Common Dreams alluded to in its short article above; the employment of the government's extensive logistical abilities to streamline and optimize the mass deportation process and speed up the establishment of a white nationalist ethnostate, is more or less how the Nazis ultimately facilitated the Holocaust using the punch card computing system IBM helped them build for that purpose. Speaking frankly, what separates the Nazis and the Holocaust from other eliminationist campaigns by fascist governments in human history is the creation of an optimized system to apprehend, detain, and eventually exterminate whole classes of people; this was systemic fascist murder, and it ended in the deaths of millions of people, most notably but not exclusively over six million Jewish people from all over Europe.

If you look at the overarching theme of the Trump regime's employment of AI technology, mass surveillance, and the integration of data from all government sources into ICE databases, it becomes very clear that we're looking at systemic, logistically organized fascist repression that sure looks an awful lot like the Nazis under Hitler. You might say to me that I can't prove the administration is working itself towards an eliminationist program targeting migrants, but I'd respond by reminding you that mass deportations have historically been part of the process of genocide, bullets in the head are cheaper than airplane flights, and the very same systemic fascism this regime is now admitting is necessary for its mass deportations to function, can just as easily be purposed for mass executions when the time comes.

Okay, so given Trump's move to undo pardons granted by outgoing US President Joe Biden so he can target DoJ officials who prosecuted him for real crimes he actually committed, and the above-mentioned pattern of Trump's aggrieved fascist ranting transmuting into official, state-recognized reality, while serving to justify oppressive action by the regime, what are we to make of Trump declaring that media outlets that report on him critically, including named organizations MSNBC and CNN, are "illegal" during that same speech at the US Department of Justice? Well, I think for starters it's safe to assume that none of this means *anything* good.

"The president gave a speech Friday at the Justice Department railing against news outlets he says have unfairly targeted him.

Trump singled out CNN and MSNBC, which he called “MSNDC,” claiming those outlets “literally write 97.6% bad about me” and are “political arms of the Democrat Party.”

He added, “In my opinion, they’re really corrupt and they’re illegal, what they do is illegal.”

Trump then argued that media organizations that report negative things about him “are really no different than a highly paid political operative,” insisting, “it has to stop, it has to be illegal” because “it’s influencing judges and it’s really, eh, changing law, and it just cannot be legal.”

He additionally claimed that news outlets cover him negatively “in total coordination with each other.”

Whether they're playing it cool on purpose, or not, this story is once again mostly being reported in corporate media as an extension of Trump's longstanding grievances with anything he perceives as critical media coverage and the outlets that produce it; although boutique "progressive" websites and nonprofit media have been a little quicker to realize why this isn't just "Trump being Trump" anymore and how dangerous it is to assume our new American Mussolini lacks purpose in his actions here.

Frankly, I don't think it's an accident that in the very same speech Trump previewed loyalty investigations into Justice Department officials, and attempted to usurp the power of his Attorney General by declaring himself the country's "chief law enforcement officer," he declared liberal establishment media an active political arm of the opposition party, and accused them of both actively conspiring against him, and engaging in criminal activity. What does it mean when the "chief law enforcement officer" declares media critical of him "corrupt" and "illegal?" And how much more ominous is that meaning when its set against the backdrop of a US president celebrating his election as a victory against (what is now) his own Justice Department, while promising what sure sounds like legal investigations into DoJ lawyers and officials that dared to bring charges against him?

The obviously implication here is that Trump thinks the DoJ should target and prosecute media outlets that are critical of him, he has the right to order the department to do so because he's running the DoJ, and anyone who opposes that activity is likely to find themselves purged from the department at a minimum, and quite possibly prosecuted themselves. What many of the corporate media outlets likely to be targeted by Trump's assault on free speech rights and critical media coverage have passed off as a vengeful old man "playing the hits" is actually a fully formed operation to seize control of the American legal apparatus or at least the prosecution portion of it, redefine what is a crime, manufacture consent to target his enemies with the US Department of Justice, and threaten to punish or dispose of anyone who dares to get in his way over a silly little thing like "the law." Trump may have delivered it like a drunk racist grandpa, but his speech is clearly a calculated attempt by the president to drastically expand his own powers, and prosecute his fascist agenda - whether he's doing it for revenge or not (he is), is ultimately the *least* important factor here.

This then dovetails into the methods by which Trump is actually attempting to accomplish this fascist, anti-free speech bullshit; specifically the larger narrative of unreality the Trump regime is constructing day by day. Trump is working to equate critical media with his political opposition, his political opposition with protestors, and protestors with terrorists, while his larger regime takes actions against that opposition as if what Trump is suggesting here were already indisputable truth. I hate to keep bringing up literally Hitler, the Nazi Party, and the German Enabling Act of 1933, but students of history will gladly tell you that Hitler's playbook for transforming Germany into a autocratic one-party dictatorship looks an awful lot like exactly what Trump is doing here.

If I'm being honest, I don't really have a lot more to add here, but I wanted to highlight a specific section of this article about the rhetorical style employed by Trump and the Pork Reich because much of our mainstream establishment, even the portions of it that are opposing Trump (and I don't think that represents a LARGE portion of said establishment) either doesn't know how this works, or doesn't care to identify it and work to counteract it:

"Trumpism as a discourse most prominently features three verbal maneuvers: gaslighting, coopting, and boomeranging. All three are intertwined in the disingenuous effort to overturn our liberal democracy and further the move toward a more illiberal autocratic political system, where Trump and his followers get to claim they are saving us from the failures of the current political system. Gaslighting is where you deflect a criticism by saying that the problem is something other than what the critic alleged, thereby insulating yourself from that criticism. For instance, the January 6th attack on the Capitol was actually an inside job perpetrated by the FBI. Coopting is where you adopt the language of your critics so that you are the one with the just cause and they are the one who is deserving of condemnation. The January 6th attack on the Capitol was an instance of Trump supporters standing up for democracy, not trying to undermine it. Boomeranging is where you send criticism directed at you right back at your critics. In this case, the claim is that the critics of the January 6th insurrection are actually the ones who are threatening democracy. These are all lies, aided by disinformation, consciously deployed to pollute public discourse and open the door to allowing Trump and is supporters to overthrow the existing constitutional order."

Setting aside the fact that the author and I clearly have wildly divergent opinions about to what degree the American system under free market fundamentalism actually represents a democracy, this is a fairly accurate assessment of the rhetorical style deployed by Dowmarket Mussolini, his mandarins, and the "America First" fascist movement in modern politics. I would have liked to see Schram point out that this style of discourse is always employed by fascist movements throughout history, without variation, and some comparison to the DARVO (Deny, Attack, Reverse Victim and Offender) tactics employed by abusers because I think both of those things are quite instructional in the context of Americans being woefully unprepared to recognize and combat fascist politics in a country where fascist ideology has been normalized for decades and decades. For example, this is French philosopher, playwright, and political activist Jean-Paul Sartre writing in 1946:

“Never believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.”

Now obviously Sartre focuses his analysis on antisemites in this quote, but objectively speaking antisemitism is such an inherent part of the larger fascist zeitgeist that he was in fact also discussing the larger fascist argument style. It is in my studied opinion, not at all some sort of accident that the Trump administration's ideological arguments and justifications perfectly mirror those of the literal Nazi Party and um, rapists, of which there are many in Trump's administration.

Finally, I should hope at this point it goes without saying that I do NOT support starving senior citizens and poor people so Elon Musk and the other rich nazis who own Trump can steal literally trillions (no, really, with a T) of dollars from the US treasury and by loose extrapolation, the American people - but if you needed that pointed out here, there it is.

Considering that #Trump's #Republican Party has effectively become the new #NaziParty of the #UnitedStates I'm not surprised.

We're going to have #ConcentrationCamps within the next couple of years (#Project2025 already told us they're coming), whether any of them have gas chambers remains to be seen.
