  5. Preaching love to people trying to kill us will not discourage them from trying again. What might, is better handling the migration stream of young radicalised muslim men that keep committing these attacks.

How the west keeps being open to those that reject their values, like equal rights for women and LGBTQ+ people and wishes to enforce sharia law, is a paradox of tolerance.

This will keep happening until we can adequately integrate these individuals, or expel/ban the ones refusing to do so.

If we manage that, then maybe the women and children, the actual migrants and refugees who come in search of a better life… they won’t have to continue facing blame for horrible actions committed by a few radicalised men.

  9. [P] This isn't a pro-LLM post so much, it's more that neuroenshittified, hiverarchian homunculi are ambulatory waste as far as I'm concerned. It isn't difficult for an LLM to come out on top if their challengers are literally anthropomorphised rubbish. And I might not hold this view were hiverarchians not designed to be so belligerently tribal. If they treated neurodivergent kids better, maybe... But Judge Rotenberg Center, so no.

  10. [P] I can't expect neuroenshittified, hiverarchian homunculi to care. They won't. And perhaps they can't as an evolutionary trait. What gets me though is how insecure it looks. There's this tribal fear that LLMs are better people than they are. And maybe they are? The main thing an LLM can't do is show vivid imaginatuon, where truly unique and personal ideas are originated. But hiverarchians are rotten at that, too.

  11. [P] But even if we use my low bar, I'm still more eloquent and clearly spoken than the neuroenshittified homunculi I'm unfortunate enough to have to deal with. So, even with my typos, the loss of diversity in word choices, and my waning intellect in general? I too am accosted with these bloody LLM accusations. It's just going to be such a bad time for neurodivergent kids. But neuroenshittified means low affective empathy, so...

  12. [P] Given that the average neurodivergent is more well-spoken? It's a problem. There're a lot of neurodivervent sesquipedalians out there, and those younglings will be hounded with accusations. It's an idiocracy out there. I inoe I make typos when posting on mobile, but I have dyslexia and arthtitis, and I'm going blind, I no l9nger have the luxury of caring. Dementia is beginning to steal away my variety of words, too.

  14. [P] A concern I've had vis-a-vis the neuroenshittified, hiverarchian majority (on account of their tribalism and reduced affective empathy) is that LLM-calling would turn into a new kind of anti-intellectual bigotry. And it has. If the homunculi witness anyone who isn't goodthinkfully monosyllabic, gu3ss what the accusation is? Either that the author is an LLM or used a post by one. This is an issue that'll affect a lot of kids.

  18. @elgringomexicano Agreed! Even if I personally lack interest in sports, the disparagement of athletes is wholly unjustified.

There are certainly problematic aspects with lots of sports culture, but the same can be said for any culture. How many scholars have we seen demonizing trans people lately? Too many to count! Dorian Abbot, John Armstrong, Peter Boghossian, Maarten Boudry, Alex Byrne, Nicholas Christakis, Roger Cohen, Jerry Coyne, Richard Dawkins, Niall Ferguson, Janice Fiamengo, Solveig Gold, Moti Gorin, Karleen Gribble, Carole Hooven, Geoff Horsman, Joshua Katz, Sergiu Klainerman, Lawrence M. Krauss, Anna Krylov, Luana Maroja, Christian Ott, Bruce Pardy, Jordan Peterson, Steven Pinker, Richard Redding, Arthur Rousseau, Gad Saad, Sally Satel, Lauren Schwartz, Alan Sokal, Allesandro Strumia, Judith Suissa, Alice Sullivan, Jay Tanzman, Abigail Thompson, Amy Wax, Elizabeth Weiss & Frances Widdowson all contributed to a single book, published on July 29, 2025, called "The War on Science" promoting anti-queer ideas like binary gender or intersex denial & defending various racists against "cancel culture" & "political correctness". That is just one book. Countless more, highly respected scholars have espoused anti-trans views, such as Norman Finklestein. I lost a lot of respect for Finklestein, who I previously respected very deeply, after reading his horrible blog post called "Transgender Cult", published on June 14, 2023 at normanfinkelstein.com/transgen

Prejudice is no more "treating X like sports teams" than "treating X like geopolitical blocs" or "treating X like political parties." Prejudice is a fundamental human tendency. Prejudice co-exists with & is balanced out by the countertendency that is allophilia, the love of groups one is not a member of. Varying levels of prejudice & allophilia exist between individuals & cultures. Humans have many tendencies & countertendencies. We have the tendency to sadism & to sympathy, to envy & symhedonia, to love & hate, to friendship & enemyship, to struggle for existence & mutual aid, to domination & mutuality. It was especially common during the Cold War, post 9/11 wars & such for people to treat geopolitics with great prejudice, but in recent years the eyes of the people have been being opened as warcrimes are increasingly being livestreamed on social media, making support for one's own country often untenable except for the most unsympathetic people.

The frequency of prejudice against other teams, women & so on within sports culture is certainly a problem, but prejudice also exists within other cultures. In scholar culture, we often see prejudice against people without degrees, against women, against racial minorities, against queers, against heterodoxers & very especially against heterodox queer racial minority women without degrees. Double-blind peer review is intended to prevent this, but only applies to journals & is a work around for, rather than an abolition of the prejudice of the culture. "Sports are only for dumb jocks" is just as much a manifestation of prejudice as "we are the best team even though we keep losing" or "women are bad at everything."

I would like to confess that I used to engage in the prejudice against athletes myself when I was less wise, & I regret this wholeheartedly. It has been more than a third of my life since then & I am now a better person. No one is wrong forever, even if bigots are unwilling to admit it. We all either self-correct or we die within no more than 122 years.

Many people believe prejudice is less harmful if does not result in systemic bias. These people would say that it is okay to be prejudiced against athletes but not black people, because prejudice against the former does not result in systemic bias unlike the prejudice against the latter.

I answer that: the fact that harms are small enough not to result in systemic bias does not make a prejudice any less harmful at an individual level, only at a systemic level. Systemic bias comes from a large number of individual behaviors, especially from powerful individuals. A single nerd supremacist of equal power, whose volition differs only in target of prejudice rather than in willingness to act on prejudice in a given way, does not do more harm than a single white supremacist. Given white supremacists are more influential as a group, they cause more harm as a group, but not necessarily as individuals. When they do cause more harm as individuals, this is due to either 1) greater power, such as leading a country, megacorporation or police force or 2) more will to harm, such as a willingness to commit a hate crime.

Please check out @mxchara if you haven't already seen them, they post great things & are one of the best writers I have ever seen, on par in the beauty of their prose with Friedrich Nietzsche, which I was certainly not expecting from a mastodon account.

I love you all comrades & have a nice day! 😻

    Thomson Reuters $125 million
for access to its databases of personal data

    — to help Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) investigate what it describes as
    “voters fraud” and immigration fraud,

according to procurement documents reviewed by 404 Media.

The document says Thomson Reuters is able to let ICE continuously monitor millions of people and entities of interest.

The news comes after Trump held a conspiracy-laden and unhinged press conference about election security on Thursday,
setting the stage for potentially undermining the legitimacy of the upcoming midterm elections.

It also follows ICE fatally shooting
    2 people in a week.

    “Due to ICE’s re-prioritized mission,
there is need for this data to be readily accessible to support the presidential mandate of the identification of

    the procurement document reads.

  29. Look at how many times the heritage foundation ghouls use the word "natural" or "inherent" when describing some stuff about women: transiticsnews.com/p/after-pus

Ideas about what's "natural" (vs "cultural") are central to a lot of messed up ideologies. The idea that something is "natural" is used as a cudgel to keep people in line: "girls shouldn't play sports, it's not natural" or "it's only natural for people to want to marry within their race", or "it's unnatural to be gay", etc etc etc.

This is why disciplines like cultural anthropology are necessary. The research that comes out of these fields helps answer the question "is x *really* natural, or does it vary by culture?"

Sometimes I wonder: if I didn't receive so many messages growing up about such and such thing being natural or inevitable, would I have been as interested in studying cultural anthropology in college, and would I instead have gone for a more practical major? Who can say.

As things happened, I absolutely *needed* to learn whether I really was meant to be a dumb, weak babymaker.....or whether it's inevitable for a certain number of people in a society to go hungry or be without a home (the answer is "no" and "no").

I defer to actual cultural anthropologists on this, but if someone asked me "ok, so what actually *is* natural about humans? (Meaning: occurs in all or nearly all cultures)", I think there's very little. I think almost all (if not all-all societies) have humans living in groups ("social species"), using tools (just like many other non-human animals), using language, and telling stories. That's about it. Pretty much everything else varies. If there's an obvious one I've missed, please let me know.

So don't let bigots bully you by telling you this or that is "natural"! Nearly everything about how humans are varies by culture, and anyway, where is the experiment that involves culture-less humans (which might show us what "natural" humans are like)? And those instances of"wild" children don't count, because humans raised alone do *not* reflect any kind of "natural" conditions (because we evolved growing up in groups).

You may not always agree with their opinions, but those opinions are not formed from #Propaganda (aka #Algorithms), #Hate, #Racism or #Bigotry. In all but a few cases (from my experience) do you find anyone willing to die on the hill of their opinion. Almost all have an open mind and most willing to back up their arguments with reliable sources. It is a diverse and welcoming environment, the safest kid-safe social media platform because it is moderated by its members as well as its instance owners not algorithms.
