Got into an argument with a friend the other day who defended his subscription to the New York Times as needing to know what the people he disagrees with are saying and I snapped back that there are PLENTY of ways to consume New York Times coverage without actually giving them money for their endless campaigns against trans and genderqueer people every month and I used the argument:
"I've read The Turner Diaries, I didn't go out and buy a brand new copy of it"
After that one, he didn't argue anymore. Being nonbinary, this is one I am QUITE sensitive on, and I have zero tolerance to anybody who subscribes to NYT at this point in their existence.
