US Visa of Biden-awarded Iraqi National Revoked
The United States officially revoked the US visa of Taif Sami Mohammed Al Shakarchi, the Iraqi national who was awarded by the failed Biden Administration in 2022, according to US State Department citing her placement on the Terror Watchlist of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
In a New York Post report, Taif Sami Mohammed Al Shakarchi’s alleged links to the Islamic terrorist regime of Iran and Iran-backed militias in Iraq drew headlines. She was also the target of two Republicans in the US House of Representatives accused of being the “key enabler of terrorist funding in Iraq.”
To put things in perspective, posted below is the entire statement of the US State Department. Some parts in boldface…
The U.S. Department of State has revoked the visa of an Iraqi national who was presented an award by the Biden Administration for her purported role in fighting corruption and her advocacy for “gender equity.”
Taif Sami Mohammed Al Shakarchi was given the International Woman of Courage Award in 2022 by former Secretary of State (Antony Blinken) and former First Lady Jill Biden.
The award recognized “women from around the globe who have demonstrated exceptional courage, strength, and leadership in advocating for peace, justice, human rights, gender equity and equality, and the empowerment of women and girls, in all their diversity.”
This Iraqi national’s visa has now been revoked by the State Department following her placement on the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Terror Watchlist. She is no longer present in the United States.
Under President Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, suspected terrorists will never be allowed to remain in the United States.
Let me end this piece by asking you readers: What is your reaction to this development? Are you aware that Taif Sami Mohammed Al Shakarchi was Iraq’s Finance Minister from 2022 to 2026? Do you suspect Taif Sami Mohammed Al Shakarchi may have been involved in financing connected with Islamic terrorists? Should all her communications and interactions with the Islamic terrorist regime of Iran be investigated?
You may answer in the comments below. If you prefer to answer privately, you may do so by sending me a direct message online.

I need money, and I wish I knew how to obtain it. If I don't have money, it affects my life trajectory. Examples: missed college events, emails not reaching my inbox because I missed a bill payment, my cats did not eat for days, and I can't buy anything to quench my thirst despite being surrounded by many shops.

Honestly, I don't know how to ask for mutual aid. So far, I understand that mutual aid is one of the forms of effort and solidarity in addressing injustices. I'm not sure if the algorithm buried my request. My house has been really smelly because I wish I could afford some pet toilet sand replacements and some deodorant, among other needs.

When Democrats had the majority in the House, Republicans had the opportunity to name someone to the #January6th Committee. When Rep. Jim Jordan was named, Speaker Nancy Pelosi rejected that name because he was viewed as having no integrity. Jordan, now asking that the corrupt Department of Justice investigate Jack Smith, is more evidence of the lack of integrity of Rep. Jordan.

J’interroge (Nikos Kazantzaki)
Reason enough to still start a civil war: ‘Speech that is purchased is not “free.” This fact exposes the error animating the Supreme Court decisions in First National Bank of Boston v. Bellotti (1978) and Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, (2010) in which the majority equated money spent by corporations to influence legislation and elections with a corporate “person’s” right of free speech.’?
https://celdf.org/2024/05/wouldnt-you-say-paid-speech-isnt-freedom-of-speech/
Corporate persons cancel the people’s democratic rights to diverse interests. Their right is only the right to the criminal expropriation of capital without any legal consequences! The judiciary has been bought. Western democracy is paying the price for the rise of billionaires’ antitrust monopolies financing fascist cults. Purges, wars, disease, extreme poverty, starvation and Ecocide is inevitable until it is corrected and fair justice restored. A better world is possible if the people desire it. Proportional Representation of diverse interests is sovereignty, not the corruption of one, two or many parties bought by the ideology of corporate capitals and sold by snake oil grifters!

A quotation from Henry Commager
Who are those who are really disloyal? Those who inflame racial hatreds, who sow religious and class dissensions. Those who subvert the Constitution by violating the freedom of the ballot box. Those who make a mockery of majority rule by the use of the filibuster. Those who impair democracy by denying equal educational facilities. Those who frustrate justice by lynch law or by making a farce of jury trials. Those who deny freedom of speech and of the press and of assembly. Those who press for special favors against the interest of the commonwealth. Those who regard public office as a source of private gain. Those who would exalt the military over the civil. Those who for selfish and private purposes stir up national antagonisms and expose the world to the ruin of war.
Henry Steele Commager (1902-1998) American historian, writer, activist
Essay (1947-09), “Who Is Loyal to America?” sec. 3, Harper’s Magazine, Vol. 195, No. 1168More about this quote: wist.info/commager-henry-steel…

It seems to me a very unjust thing to take away a man’s life for a little money, for nothing in the world can be of equal value with a man’s life: and if it be said, “that it is not for the money that one suffers, but for his breaking the law,” I must say, extreme justice is an extreme injury: for we ought not to approve of those terrible laws that make the smallest offences capital, nor of that opinion of the Stoics that makes all crimes equal; as if there were no difference to be made between the killing a man and the taking his purse, between which, if we examine things impartially, there is no likeness nor proportion.

When a nation once loses its regard to justice; when they do not look up it as something venerable, holy and inviolable; when any of them dare presume to lessen, affront or terrify those who have the distribution of it in their hands; when a judge is capable of being influenced by any thing that is foreign to its own merits, we may venture to pronounce that such a nation is hastening to its ruin.

#NIRS - The Global #NuclearWaste Crisis
"Clean air and drinking water and healthy food are the very foundation of a just and livable world. They are already more precious than ever due to the climate crisis.
#NuclearPower and #NuclearWeapons are poisoning our water, air, and lands with vast amounts of #RadioactiveWaste. Much of the harm is inflicted on #Black, #Indigenous, #PeopleOfColor and #LowIncome white communities, due to #StructuralRacism and #injustice.
Radioactive waste poses a global #EnvironmentalCrisis, in tandem with #ClimateChange. The sheer amount of nuclear waste is enough to threaten clean drinking water and healthy food for the whole world.
We are on the frontlines of this problem.
- Nearly one-third of the worldwide total of radioactive waste is in the United States.
- Some communities in the US are already losing their drinking water sources to radioactive contamination.
- Just one part of the radioactive waste in the US – irradiated nuclear fuel – contains enough radioactivity to make every drop of drinking water on Earth unsafe to consume. We must solve the twin global crises of climate change and nuclear waste. Global warming amplifies the dangers of nuclear energy. Increasingly #SevereStorms, #flooding, #SeaLevelRise, #wildfires and other extreme events increase the risks of nuclear disasters and #RadioactiveLeaks and spills. And, in turn, the impacts of nuclear energy magnify the dangers of climate change:
- Poisoning drinking water and agricultural land on top of more frequent and severe droughts and crop failures.
- Compounding hurricane and flooding evacuations with #RadiologicalDisasters.
- And causing people to lose their homes and communities permanently due to radiation. It’s clear: we can’t afford the dangers of climate change or nuclear waste. And we certainly can’t afford them together.
The solutions to both are at hand. We must act now.
1. To start, we must stop the problems from worsening: no more greenhouse gas emissions, and no more nuclear waste.
2. We need to protect people and the water, air, and food we rely on from the dangers that are upon us. The climate is changing, and we need to protect people for extreme weather, drought, sea-level rise, and food supply disruptions. And we must safeguard our water, air, and land by securing and storing nuclear waste and toxic materials as safely as possible.
3. And, we need to repair the damage and make our world healthy and vibrant again: restoring communities that have been dislocated or polluted, and cleaning up the air, land, and water so we can all thrive, for generations to come."Learn more: (includes https://www.nirs.org/the-global-nuclear-waste-crisis/

If the injustice is part of the necessary friction of the machine of government, let it go, let it go: perchance it will wear smooth, — certainly the machine will wear out. If the injustice has a spring, or a pulley, or a rope, or a crank, exclusively for itself, then perhaps you may consider whether the remedy will not be worse than the evil; but if it is of such a nature that it requires you to be the agent of injustice to another, then, I say, break the law. Let your life be a counter friction to stop the machine. What I have to do is to see, at any rate, that I do not lend myself to the wrong which I condemn.

Building the #SettlerColonial Order: #Police (In)Actions in Response to #Violence Against #IndigenousWomen in #Canada
Abstract:
In this article we focus on missing and murdered #Indigenous women, girls, and #2SLGBTQQIA people in Canada. We theorize narratives that police employ to respond to this violence. Using a broad data sample of #testimonies across Canada, this article contributes to understanding how police (in)actions make sense of, justify, and dismiss violence against Indigenous women, girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA people. We draw from 48 in-depth semi-structured interviews with Indigenous peoples in Toronto and other Canadian cities and 219 testimonies from the Canadian National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (NIMMIWG). The #analysis finds that police repeatedly use similar frames (topics), styles (linguistic and behavioral strategies), and storylines (narratives) to respond to violence against Indigenous peoples. While framing Indigenous women, girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA people as deviants helps police make sense of and explain violence against them, the use of verbal and behavioral strategies (indifference, callousness, and lack of information) and storylines (“they were [insert pathologizing frame]” and “there’s nothing we can do”) allows police to dismiss and justify acts of violence. We argue that the frames, styles, and storylines employed by police perpetuate violence. Police (in)actions are fundamental to achieving settler #colonialism’s ideological and material dimensions.
