Cómo la industria del entretenimiento perpetúa los mitos inquisitoriales y transforma tradiciones espirituales legítimas en monstruos de taquilla

Cuando nos sentamos a ver una película de terror contemporánea que involucra bosques oscuros, tótems de madera y figuras acechantes asociadas a la brujería, pocas veces nos detenemos a pensar que lo que estamos consumiendo no es simple entretenimiento inocente. En realidad, producciones cinematográficas que van desde los clásicos del siglo pasado hasta fenómenos modernos de la pantalla grande actúan como los herederos directos de una maquinaria de propaganda muy antigua, diseñada originalmente por los centros de poder clerical para desacreditar, perseguir y borrar del mapa a cualquier corriente espiritual que no se alineara con sus dogmas. Esta estrategia de desprestigio, que en términos sencillos consistía en hablar mal de la competencia para mantener el monopolio de la fe, sigue rindiendo frutos económicos y culturales en pleno siglo XXI, alimentando prejuicios absurdos contra las tradiciones paganas.

Para entender este fenómeno con claridad, es necesario mirar hacia el pasado y revisar cómo se construyó el mito de la bruja perversa. Antes de la llegada de las grandes religiones monoteístas, las comunidades rurales dependían de hombres y mujeres que poseían un conocimiento profundo de la naturaleza, las propiedades medicinales de las plantas, los ciclos de la Luna y la atención de los partos. Estas personas, lejos de ser entes maléficos que pactaban con fuerzas de la oscuridad, eran figuras respetadas que ayudaban a sostener la vida cotidiana de sus pueblos. Sin embargo, cuando las instituciones religiosas dominantes buscaron consolidar su control político y social sobre Europa, iniciaron una campaña sistemática de asimilación y destrucción cultural, transformando a los antiguos dioses de la tierra en demonios y catalogando las prácticas de sanación tradicionales como actos de traición y herejía.

El documento más infame de esta campaña publicitaria fue el Malleus Maleficarum o El martillo de las brujas, un manual publicado en el año 1487 que sirvió como guía teológica y legal para la persecución de miles de personas inocentes. En ese texto se fijaron los mismos clichés que Hollywood explota hoy en día para generar miedo a lo desconocido: la idea de que la brujería requiere la adoración de un ser maligno, el sacrificio de infantes y la ejecución de maleficios destinados a causar daño. Lo irónico del asunto es que figuras como el diablo o Satanás pertenecen de forma exclusiva al marco de las religiones abrahámicas; las corrientes paganas, al ser panteístas o politeístas, ni siquiera contemplan la existencia de una entidad que represente el mal absoluto, lo que vuelve ridícula la premisa de que un pagano rinda culto a un personaje del folclore cristiano.

Al revisar la ética que rige a las comunidades paganas actuales, el contraste con la ficción del cine de terror es absoluto. La regla fundamental que guía el comportamiento de los practicantes en sus distintas vertientes se resume en la famosa máxima que dicta que, mientras no se cause daño a nadie, cada quien es libre de hacer su voluntad, un principio que se complementa con la profunda convicción de que cualquier acción que realicemos regresará a nosotros de forma multiplicada. Esta filosofía basada en el respeto al entorno, la introspección personal y el cuidado de los ciclos naturales dista por completo de los comportamientos homicidas y destructivos que se muestran en películas como El proyecto de la bruja de Blair, donde la iconografía sagrada de la tierra se reduce a un simple elemento visual para causar pesadillas.

Equiparar el paganismo con un peligro público en la era moderna es tan injusto y discriminatorio como lo sería atacar al budismo, al sintoísmo o al propio cristianismo por sus rituales y símbolos. El cine comercial prefiere mantener vivo el fantasma de la bruja medieval porque el morbo y el miedo venden entradas de manera fácil, prefiriendo reciclar los viejos libretos de la Inquisición antes que mostrar la realidad de comunidades pacíficas que solo buscan vivir en armonía con las leyes del universo. Es momento de limpiar la mirada, cuestionar los discursos prefabricados que nos entrega la industria del entretenimiento y reconocer que la verdadera soberanía intelectual comienza cuando dejamos de usar los ojos del prejuicio religioso para juzgar la espiritualidad de los demás.

Must Watch: U.S. Trade Rep Jamieson Greer -vs- Canadian State Controlled Media Rosemary Barton

This is a must watch interview.  Most Americans have no idea that Canadian media is controlled by the Canadian government; it’s what they call “cultural protection” where the rules and regulations of permissible speech are controlled by govt regulators and media are subsidized by govt.  The overall objective is to control information and censor viewpoints that might be averse to the interests of the Canadian govt. That’s why most Canadians have no concept of granular details on policy matters; they just don’t get the information.

In this interview with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), U.S Trade Representative Jamieson Greer is discussing the trade conflict and breakdown with Canada’s version of Baghdad Bob, Rosemary Barton.  I’m a little surprised the CBC would even entertain the discussion. However, as noted in the past few days there is increasing skepticism amid Canadians about who and what actually blew up the trade talks. Canadians are starting to show signs of suspicion; enter Ms. Barton on behalf of the Canadian government to try and control things.

USTR Jamieson Greer answers the questions in a most unfortunate manner; meaning, he told the truth.  Greer outlined exactly why he suspects the trade talks broke down, and it has nothing to do with economics or trade, it’s all politics on the Canadian side.  As Greer noted, there was no change to the trade agreement between President Trump and Prime Minister Carney’s lengthy phone call on Tuesday, and the Canadian decision to walk away on Friday.  Greer was being very diplomatic, but Barton started getting the vapors. WATCH:

Why Revolutions Never Die

My dear reader, you have read about the pirates of World War Zero, Túpac Amaru I & II, Haiti, San Martín and Bolívar.

And now, sitting in your chair, scrolling through these stories on a screen, a question rises unbidden:

Where did it all go?

Where are the pirates now? Where are the maroon republics? Where is the Haiti that terrified empires? Where are the liberators, the rebels, the ones who burned and fought and died for freedom? Why does the world feel so settled—so locked down, so hopeless, so impossible to change?

The question is natural.

The Old Way and the New

In the time of Toussaint and Bolívar, empire was a visible thing. You could see it in the uniforms of the soldiers, the walls of the fortresses, the chains on the enslaved. You could fight it—sword against sword, cannon against cannon, flesh against flesh. When the enslaved of Saint-Domingue rose in 1791, they knew exactly who their enemy was: the white planter, the French soldier, the merchant who sold human beings. They could kill that enemy. They did.

The empires of the twenty-first century are different. They have learned.

They have learned that it is cheaper to control minds than to occupy territory. They have learned that a population convinced of its own powerlessness is easier to rule than one that remembers it once fought back. They have learned that the most effective weapon is not the gun but the story—the endless, seamless, suffocating story that says this is the only way things can be.

This story has many voices. They call it news, entertainment, education, information. They deliver it through screens that glow in every pocket, in every home, in every room where a human being sits alone. They have built a machine that never stops talking, that fills every silence, that leaves no space for a different thought to grow.

And in that machine, the rebel becomes a joke. The revolutionary becomes a monster. The one who says “we can be free” becomes a target.

The New Weapons

Imagine for a moment what the Haitian Revolution would look like if it happened today.

The ceremony at Bois Caïman would be filmed on a dozen phones. Within hours, the footage would be everywhere—but not as you might think. It would appear on certain channels with a simple caption: “Cannibal cult prepares human sacrifice.” Experts would appear on news programs, explaining that these people are savages, that they pose a threat to civilization, that something must be done.

When the plantations began to burn, the images would be carefully selected. The burning fields, yes—but also the bodies. Always the bodies. The dead white children, the murdered women, the planters hacked to pieces in their beds. These images would loop endlessly, accompanied by solemn music and the voices of commentators asking: “Is this freedom? Is this what revolution looks like?”

And in the comments sections, beneath every video, every article, every post, the voices would multiply. Some would be real people, frightened and angry. Others would not be people at all. They would be bots, designed to simulate outrage, to drown dissent in a flood of noise, to make anyone who might sympathize with the rebels feel alone, insane, stupid.

“They’re animals.”

“This is why colonialism was necessary.”

“Kill the Slaves.”

“If you support this, you’re a monster too.”

The bots do not sleep. They do not tire. They do not doubt. They simply repeat, and repeat, and repeat, until the weight of their repetition becomes the truth.

And somewhere, a person watches this machine at work and thinks: “What’s the point? They’re too powerful. We can never win. It’s better to just… survive.“

That thought is their goal. That thought is their victory. The machine does not need to kill the rebel. It only needs to convince that rebellion is impossible.

The Assassination of Hope

They have become very good at this.

In the old days, when a revolutionary appeared, they sent soldiers. Now they send journalists, or rather, people who look like journalists. They dig through every moment of the rebel’s life, searching for something—a bad joke, an old argument, a moment of weakness—that can be amplified into a scandal. They find allies and turn them into enemies. They find enemies and turn them into victims. They weave a story so thick, so complex, so overwhelming that the rebel spends all their energy defending themselves instead of building the new world.

And if that fails, there is always the mockery. The internet is a machine for mockery. It can take any ideal, any dream, any hope and reduce it to a meme within hours. (Information war – Woke Witch Hunt)

The revolutionary becomes a cartoon. The revolution becomes a punchline. The young person watching learns not to take anything seriously, because seriousness is a trap, because caring makes you vulnerable, because the only way to survive the mockery is to mock everything yourself.

This is the psychological warfare of the twenty-first century. It does not kill the body. It kills the spirit. It leaves the rebel alive but empty, walking through the motions of life but no longer capable of imagining anything different.

The Old Weapons Still Work

And yet.

And yet, for all their power, for all their screens and bots and algorithms, the new empires have not solved the basic problem that faced the old ones. They have not made the desire for freedom disappear. They have not erased the memory of injustice. They have not convinced the billions who have nothing that they should be content with nothing.

The same conditions that produced Toussaint and Túpac Amaru and the pirates of World War Zero still exist. The gap between rich and poor grows wider every year. The earth itself is burning. The promises of the machine—that if you work hard, if you consume, if you stay in your lane, you will be safe—are revealed as lies, again and again, to more and more people.

And in the cracks of the machine, the fire still burns.

They knows this. That is why propaganda never stops talking. That is why it fills every silence. That is why it must convince you, personally, that you are alone, that your dreams are foolish, that the time for revolution is not now.

Because if you knew how many others were thinking the same thoughts, feeling the same anger, nursing the same hope—if you could see the fire burning in a billion hearts at once—you might realize that you are not alone at all.

No one can predict when or how the next revolution will come. That is the nature of fire. It does not announce itself. It does not follow a plan. It simply appears, somewhere, somehow, and spreads where it can.

Revolutions come when a generation grows up so saturated in lies that the truth becomes a relief, no matter how painful. When people decide they would rather die trying to be free than live forever on their knees.

When that moment comes, their bots will not save them. Their mockery will not save them. Because when human beings decide to die for a cause, they become a force that can change everything.
