If the U.S. has, and I quote - POTUS, no less! - "Total control" over the Strait of Hormuz, will the rest of the world hold the U.S. accountable for the non-delivery of oil, and the many oil feedstocks needed for fertilizer, pharmaceuticals, et al.?

I've discovered another irregular verb.
Apparently the Iranians ATTACK ships but the Americans DISABLE ships.
In both cases they fire a missile or explosive projectile into the ship killing or injuring the crew.
