4 March 2026 20:00 GMTIranian officials have accused #Israel of carrying out some of the drone strikes on energy and civilian sites in the #ArabianGulf, calling the attacks a calculated bid to spark regional fury and pull #Arab states into the #war on Tehran.
An Iranian foreign ministry official told #MEE that Israel was behind several of the drone strikes against #SaudiArabia and claimed that they were also responsible for at least one of the attacks on #Oman.
"I can categorically say that some of the attacks were not carried out by us [#Iran]," the official, who requested anonymity, said.

So a single drone flying in the direction of a hostile fleet a few hundred KM offshore is an "aggressive act" that must be shot down.
I guess the heavy bombing of the Iranian nuclear facilities probably killing hundreds was a "police action" but if Iran were to blow up Los Alamos National Laboratory in the US it would be a terrorist act.

This goes beyond his usual pointless stupidity.Renaming the #GulfOfMexico was instigated b/c he's a #racist f--k, and renaming the "#Persian" Gulf to the "#ArabianGulf" was likely spurred by his Saudi friends informing him "#Persia" was the original name of #Iran.
But beyond #CaptBoneSpurs, wiping out the name of "The Persian Gulf", it also eradicates/dismisses the place of death for thousands of American troops (that I assume would no longer appear on any map.)

Authoritarian regimes in general often suffer from legitimacy crises and thus see any grassroots activism and mobilization of citizens as potentially threatening. This is the case irrespective of what cause brings the people together. Most Arab governments want to co-opt and regulate such movements and prevent them from ever challenging regime-backed narratives and interests.
