An Iranian ‘Varesh Airlines’ flight to Tajikistan was forced to turn back to Imam Khomeini Airport today after Turkmenistan refused to allow overflight of its airspace.
The captain attempted to get overflight permission from Azerbaijan, but was denied. All of this comes as part of newly implemented U.S. sanctions.
