As we wait for the EIA numbers, one item that's been coming out lately is that some unknown but nontrivial amount of oil has been being snuck out of the Strait or Hormuz via ship-to-ship transfer. I don't know how much it can be, but there's enough discussion of it that I think it's real. Basically, smuggling of their own goods by their own governments, to spend less time at sea and be harder to track.

    This is obviously very inefficient compared to ... almost anything else, really ... but it certainly could work.
