On Monday, Lunas Campos’s family sued the guards & the companies that oversaw Camp East Montana, the El Paso detention center where he died, alleging the guards killed him & that their employers failed to adequately train & supervise them. The lawsuit also alleges the facility failed to properly treat Lunas Campos’s #mentalillness, putting him in danger.

The two women married in February [2025] and filed in May to adjust Suarez’s immigration status, a process that U.S. immigration law explicitly provides for spouses of U.S. citizens.

"Now Manríquez reports that the project has just gotten much bigger after a Navy grant was repurposed weeks ago. It was authorized through the Worldwide Expeditionary Multiple Award Contract (WEXMAC), a flexible purchasing system that the government uses to quickly move military equipment to dangerous and remote parts of the world.
"The contract states that the money is being repurposed for '#TITUS,' an abbreviation for 'Territorial Integrity of the United States.' While it’s not unusual for Navy contracts to be used for expenditures aimed at protecting the nation, Manríquez warned that such a staggering movement of funds for domestic detention points to something ominous. Because #fash #states think that the #carceral #deprivation and #torture will deter #rebellions As we see from #Gaza the world's largest concentration camp - and many others, this is not what happens. The concentration is a radicalising process, in exactly the same way as prisons are universities and network facilitators of criminal enterprise. Faced with this realisation - that the people you have imprisoned are now fully concentrated on your defeat, the fash response - of course, always out of fear of righteous vengeance - is to seek to eradicate the threat of consequence rather than account for strategic missteps in creating the concentration camp in the first place.
