#til a word, new to me, the German word Nazi’s used to describe the totalitarian state they were creating: Gleichschaltung. I was listening to someone, a NYT journalist on Instagram, who has read all 800+ pages of the Heritage Foundation’s Project 25. This journalist was describing the contents. Someone wrote in the comments “It’s called Gleichschaltung. Look it up.” I did. The word encompasses the Nazi’s entire social, political, economic, educational and cultural goals to Nazify the German people. #gleichschaltung #nazification
