The “Share” dialog’s “Only you” option is broken by design: it should let me get a link back to this exact live thread, for opening on another device where I’m logged in, but instead it does nothing. “Share Link” stays disabled because “Only you” generates no link at all, not even an authenticated one. On desktop web, the address bar URL,
claude.ai/chat/<id>, works as a manual substitute, but this isn’t available in the mobile app at all, leaving no way to get a link to the current thread there. Please fix “Only you” to actually produce that same authenticated thread link from within the Share dialog, instead of requiring “Anyone with the link” (a public, unauthenticated snapshot) as the only functioning option.
Claude AI - The mobile app has got no link to reference this chat from another of my own sessions. There is a search function, but once a thread scrolls off the recent list it’s effectively gone unless you find it that way. Feels less like an oversight and more like the mobile app is intentionally kept thinner than web. There’s a share private thread feature, but the share button is grayed out. Is that intentional? It’s like it’s there, but it’s blocked on purpose. And when you share a thread with yourself, it doesn’t need to be a link to a snapshot. Google has been updating its Android OS with beefier anti-theft and security features. Last year, Google also rolled out a system service to Android devices called Android System SafetyCore. A background service that silently monitors your phone for unwanted content, specifically mature content like nudity.
It all sounds good until you realize Google Messages can scan your inbox for images with sensitive content that includes nudity, spam, scams, or malware. But I’m not comfortable with the idea of having a background app scan through my texts and media. So, I went ahead and turned it off, which was easier than I thought.

I can’t understand how we got to this place with “app culture”! Software companies are happy to make their lives harder (and more expensive: deploying to the big app stores isn’t free!), in order to deliver HTML content to fewer people and with fewer features than if they just published directly to the Web in the first place!
There are (some) tasks for which an “app” is absolutely the right choice of medium. Travelbound is not one of them.
But at least I (and the rest of our group, whom I’ve shared it with) now get the choice about how we access this content. Either a 43MB app (ballooning to 124MB when it’s finished downloading extra content) with tracking and advertisements… or a 0.05MB web page (with an optional extra 35MB of images) that provides more features and works on more devices. I know which one I’ll be using!”
