This form is really unclear to me. Who am I signing up, should I be setting up multiple accounts for different ASC accounts, is that even possible? The documentation doesn't seem helpful. #iosDevelopment #AppleAds

Left Xcode running when I went out. Got back from that trip. Xcode was still running, so I tried to build. All sorts of errors, looks like a missing SDK. Looks like Xcode was updated to 26.5 without notice, but I need to manually start the SDK download.
The weird part is that App Store isn't showing that the 26.5 update as available, let alone installed recently. #iosDevelopment

Oops. Accidentally submitted my Baskla 1.1 build to App Store review instead of to TestFlight review. Getting those changes to "testable" took a lot more time than I thought it would, and I guess I forgot the TestFlight flow. I rejected it, but I think that means I'll need to rebuild.
I submitted it to TestFlight anyway. Odds are it'll need at least one more build. I'm pretty sure I'll be able to find a bug I need to fix tomorrow… #iosDevelopment

I think my lossless photo editor component is basically ready. On iPhone, the first tab controls cropping, tilting and rotation. It's zoomed all the way. The second and subsequent tabs have a secondary tab to control what's being adjusted, with the photo zoomed in to the cropped area. I'm still considering giving the secondary tabs a unique look. #iosDevelopment

Today is yet another day where I’m wishing that UITableView & UICollectionView were not subclasses of UIScrollView. 🫠
-
it’s weird not to carve out your product name in an App Store search. #iOSDevelopment.
-
Is there something unique about the purple flowers image included in the iOS Simulator?
My editor works on every other image, but it's rotated 180° for that one… but only on SOME of my screens.
I'm going to look into orientation data when I get back, this is just weird. #iosDevelopment

Useless facts: There's a SF Symbol named figure.seated.side.right.windshield.front.and.heat.waves.air.distribution.upper.and.middle.and.lower.
I think that's currently the longest name. #iosDevelopment
-
@ndr @_Davidsmith 🤨This is a pet peeve of mine!
I think EVERY time an app goes on sale - every price ever used goes onto that app store listing. I wish I knew how to suggest devs clean that up.
One prevention step would be to not use the same words for your sale as for your typically sold version. AND put your differentiating 20 characters first.
-
Is this an SF Symbol? I don't think it is. I looked through all the thermometers and bulbs. #iosDevelopment
-
Good progress on ReframeLossless image editing component today.
Tomorrow I hope to add aspect ratio constraints and white point adjustment.
Good grief: I should probably put 90° rotation on the list somewhere, too. #iosDevelopment

Xcode didn’t need to download debugging symbols for iOS 26.4.2 #iOSDevelopment

What's the maximum number of onboarding screens I should have in my app?
It's a local static website builder / markdown-based blogging CMS. Right now I have two value props + one screen to give their first project an internal name and website type (blog, portfolio, etc).
-
Got edge resizing working. No ratio-based constraints yet, also still coming.
The borders here (other than the white one) are a debug-only feature to help me understand what's going on. I can see another bug here, where the photo is extending into the bottom bar. Oops.
Anyway, here's Sylvester. #iosDevelopment #cats

I like to write my code so that nothing can go wrong in an unpredictable way, but this time there's too many pieces.
Or maybe this is just developing in the wrong shape… #iosDevelopment
-
Never really figured it out, but using the simple version of Slider (no label, minimumValueLabel or maximumValueLabel) fixed it. Good enough. #iosDevelopment
-
Anyone know what this black line is under the Slider? If I remove the Slider, it disappears. It's ugly and looks like it should be the Home strip, but isn't.
Code in second image. #iosDevelopment
-
Playing with a blur and dimming for cropped-out portions of the picture. Not sure I like it. Maybe I should de-saturate instead? #cats #iosDevelopment
-
The main reason to separate this as a component is just to avoid coupling issues with my data, but it also keeps the size and scope of everything smaller. I think that's valuable here. #iosDevelopment
-
So far lossless edits just include tilting. I had cropping working in my app, so I'm adding it to the component. I was working on adding full on rotation to my app (tilting is only ±15°), so I'll carry that over for sure. Some things to add later: brightness/contrast, color adjustment, sharpness? Unsure. #iosDevelopment
-
My thinking so far is it operates on a LosslessEdits structure. The idea is that the same Image + LosslessEdits will produce the same result image every time. That result image could be cached somewhere, but it doesn't have to be.
Then there's LosslessEditor(View), which will provide tools for applying the edits. #iosDevelopment
-
I decided to split off my lossless photo editor component. If there's any interest and if it seems good enough, I'll open source it.
It would be great to see what others can add to it. #iosDevelopment
-
I’m considering making an open source component for iOS: a non-destructive photo editor. Basically, you give it a photo and it lets the user apply non-destructive edits such as tilting, rotation and cropping. Would I be wasting my time? Does this already exist? I have it almost working now, but the details are hard enough that I want to split it off into a separate component anyway. #iOSDevelopment

I thought I had a good idea for cropping images, but I forgot about aspect ratio. Maybe I can still modify it to work… #iOSDevelopment

Using a cat photo here makes no sense, but I have a lot of them so… #iosDevelopment #cats

SwiftUI previews offer a fast, practical way to see the output of our view code. But did you know you can also use them to check accessibility-related UI changes including Dynamic Type, localisation, and system accessibility settings, all without needing a physical device.

Can someone tell me if the monthly subscription option has disappeared from my app?
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/fretsketch/id6752662475
I'm not seeing it in the .storeKit anymore.
I don't really mind if it's gone forever, it's just hard to write around not knowing if there's one or two subscription options. Specifically, I'm trying to fix the macOS subscription screen so I can ship the Mac version. #StoreKit #iosDevelopment #macOSDevelopment
edit: it’s there in the US. I wouldn’t mind hearing from a Canadian, though.

I'm proud to announce that the require dsl has shipped in Nimble 13.1.0!
I've found this to be a very natural way to express "I need this assertion to pass before the test continues", in a dsl that's very familiar to users (it works very similar to Nimble's expect dsl).
I'm looking forward to the amount of duplicated code in test that this will remove.

I've been working to add require to Nimble, an assertion which throws if it fails, and returns the result of the expression asserted on. Inspired by the Require macro from swift-testing.
If you're interested, I'd love feedback! The linked PR works, but I'm still dogfooding it and it overall needs to be cleaned up (and documented 😳).
