En 1897, un chauffeur de #taxi de Londres, du nom de George Smith, est condamné par un tribunal à une peine pécuniaire de 25 shillings d’alors (environ une livre sterling) pour avoir foncé dans un immeuble avec son véhicule. C’est la première condamnation en lien avec l’alcool dans un accident de la route.
