What made taxicabs so bad that they were replaced not by another mobility system, but by Big Tech, an entity that knows absolutely nothing about humans, only machines?

It's so crazy how we've just embraced ride-hailing in the way we've embraced our smartphones, which are just as bad.

Big Tech simply looks at the Matrix on a screen and sends out vehicles to people that hail them. But Big Tech doesn't care about real-word consequences.

Big Tech doesn't care if a passenger is attacked by psycho driver.
Big Tech doesn't care if a driver is attacked by a psycho passengers.
Big Tech doesn't care if an accident happens, either.

So, again, I ask: How come technology companies that know nothing about the real world managed to overtake actual mobility companies?
