🇫🇷 Ce soir, nous poursuivons la visite des transports à København et sa région lors de ce séjour de janvier 2006. Aujourd'hui, le métro et le S-tog.
Le métro est entièrement automatisé et en 2006, il était composé de deux lignes. La station de Flintholm, illustrée ici, avait été mise en janvier 2004 soit deux ans après l'ouverture de la première ligne du métro. Corollairement à la construction de cette station du métro, une station du S-tog (RER danois) a également été construite en faisant un pôle d'échange entre le métro et deux lignes du S-tog.
Le S-tog est lui plus ancien et est composé de six lignes référencées de A à H (excepté D!) et d'une ligne "express" qui ne circule qu'aux heures de pointe. Les fréquences sont élevées.
En 2006, il existait encore trois générations de matériel roulant : les rames de seconde génération (photo 2), de troisième génération, une petite série de douze rames quadruple seulement (photo 3) et de quatrième génération, au design presque futuriste, toujours en service aujourd'hui (photo 4).
Dans un futur assez proche, un consortium formé de Siemens Mobility et Stadler fournira 226 rames de cinquième génération et procédera à la transformation du réseau pour rendre l'exploitation entièrement automatique à partir de 2032 sur la "Ringbane" et en 2040 sur l'ensemble du réseau S-tog. 🇬🇧 This evening, we continue our visit to København's public transport during this stay in January 2006. Today, the metro and the S-tog.
The metro is fully automated and in 2006 it consisted of two lines. The Flintholm station, illustrated here, opened in January 2004, two years after the opening of the first line. As a corollary to the construction of this metro station, a S-tog station (Suburban trains) was also built and offers an exchange hub between the metro and two S-tog lines.
The S-tog is older and is made up of six lines referenced from A to H (except D!) and an "express" line (Bx) which is only operating during rush hours. The frequencies are high.
In 2006, there were still three generations of rolling stock: the second generation (photo 2), third generation, a small series of twelve 4-car EMUs only (photo 3) and fourth generation of EMUs, with an almost futuristic design, still in service today (photo 4).
In a near future, a consortium formed by Siemens Mobility and Stadler will supply 226 fifth generation EMUs and will be undertaken adaptation of the network to make fully automatic operations possible from 2032 on the "Ringbane" and from 2040 on the entire of the S-tog network. 🇫🇷 Cela faisait un moment que je n'avais pas scanné d'anciennes photos argentiques...
Retour en 2001, où en juin de cette année-là, la première liaison du futur réseau de l'Euregiobahn entrait en service. Réseau de desserte ferroviaire régionale pour la région d'Aachen (Aix-la-Chapelle) avec une extension jusqu'à Heerlen aux Pays-Bas. Vingt-cinq ans plus tard, le réseau s'est bien développé mais tous les projets n'ont pas été concrétisés.
En octobre 2001, je visitais donc la ligne reliant Stolberg (Rheinland)-Hbf à Stolberg-Altstadt rouverte à la circulation après de longues années de fermeture. La prolongation jusqu'à la frontière belge et la ville belge d'Eupen, souvent évoquée, n'a à ce jour pas été réalisée...
Les rames circulant sur les lignes de l'Euregiobahn étaient équipées pour rouler en régime tramway car à l'origine, il était prévu une desserte du centre-ville en voirie.

Back to 2001, when in June of that year, the Euregiobahn, a regioanl rail service for the Aachen Region started between Heerlen (NL) and Stolberg-Altstadt. Twenty-five years later, the network has been developed well but not all the projects were achieved.
In October 2001, I visited the reopened railway between Stolberg (Rheinland)-Hbf and Stolberg-Altstadt. The extension to the Belgian border and the Belgian town of Eupen, often mentioned, has not yet been carried out...
The DMUs operating on the Euregiobahn were equipped to run in tramway mode as originally, street runnings to the city center were planned.

🇫🇷 Fin des années 1970, la SNCB a mis en service les voitures M4 qui apportaient un vent de renouveau pour le matériel roulant tracté et aussi offraient un confort jusque là inégalé. A l'origine en livrée bordeaux typique des années 1980-1990 pour la société nationale des chemins de fer belges, elles marquaient une rupture avec le vert "chemin de fer". Ce 28 janvier 2026, soit quarante-sept ans après leur mise en service, elles tiraient leur révérence définitivement! Voici quelques photos de 2004 à Bruxelles-Nord et Bruxelles-Midi. A cette époque, elles avaient adopté une livrée plus claire qu'elles ont conservées jusqu'à leur dernier service... Non équipées de climatisation, elles pouvaient se transformer en sauna lors des journées chaudes d'été... Les machines des séries 21 et 27 ont également disparu de la scène ferroviaire...
Les voitures pilotes ont été conçues et sont issues de la transformation dans les ateliers de la SNCB de voitures BD (seconde classe avec fourgon), permettant de créer des rames réversibles, la machine tirant ou poussant le train selon le sens de marche.
Détail amusant, à l'origine, il avait été prévu un service de restauration et à ce titre, certaines voitures BD avait une compartiment cuisine ce qui en faisait des BDk (k comme cuisine en néerlandais!) Cet appareillage n'a, à ma connaissance, jamais été utilisé.
A ce jour, les plus anciennes voitures sont les M5 à deux étages qui datent de 1985. Elles disparaîtront le jour où les nouvelles automotrices CAF arriveront.
🇬🇧 The M4 coaching stock was introduced in the very late 1970's bringing a wind of modernisation by the SNCB/NMBS and offered a better comfort to the passenger. Their Burgundy livery was also a rupture with the traditional "Railway green". On January, 28 2026 the last carriages did operate their very last trains closing an era of 47 years! Here are four photos I took in Brussels-Midi and Brussels-North in early 2004. They then carried a much brighter livery adopted in the late 1990, a livery they carried up to their last days. As they were not fitted with air conditioning, they could turn into sauna on hot summer days. The class 21 and 27 were also withdrawn recently.
The driving van trailers were converted from BD-carriages (Standard class/luggage car) in the SNCB/NMBS workshops allowing to operate in push-pull mode.
Amusing detail, some BD carriage also had a kitchen installed as a catering service was foreseen, they were then classified BDk (k as Kitchen in Dutch). As far as I know, the kitchen were never been used.
After this withdrawal, the oldest carriages are now the M5 Stock. It will be withdrawn wenn the new CAF EMUs will enter service.

🇬🇧 Surprise in Luxembourg-City this afternoon : Coradia Stream HC EMU 2452 on a RB service to Athus (BE). It is the first six-car unit (within a unit 4 cars are bi-level cars) . One single 6-car EMU can offer a seat up to 692 passengers! It entered revenue service on January 19.

Chemins de fer allemands au début des années 2000 - Episode 1
Le scan des photos argentiques me fait prendre conscience combien la scène ferroviaire a changé en un quart de siècle...
Voici une première sélection:
Les locomotives série 101 étaient omniprésentes en trafic grandes lignes et certaines avaient reçu des livrées publicitaires comme celle-ci avec une livrée pour Bayer arrivant en gare de Köln-Hbf avec un train InterRegio - 02.03.2002
Une autre série 101 en tête d'une rame de voitures autrichiennes, probablement un EuroCity marque l'arrêt en gare de Köln-Hbf - 02.03.2002
Toujours le 02.03.2002, une 103 en tête d'une rame SNCB arrivant d'Oostende en gare de Köln-Hbf. Au lancement des trains InterCity en Allemagne, la série 103 était LA locomotive moderne et rapide allemande. Ses formes rondes et aérodynamiques lui donnait un aspect assez unique. Elles ont été les premières à circuler à 200 km/h de manière régulière.
La série 110, toujours présente sur les rails allemands, notamment auprès d'opérateurs privés, est la plus ancienne du parc de la DB. Le 02.03.2002, l'une d'elle tractait une rame de voitures Silberlinge en gare de Köln-Hbf. Cette rame représente la rame régionale par excellence de l'époque même si les nouvelles automotrices et les nouveaux autorails commençaient à arriver en nombre...

Aujourd'hui, un peu de temps libre imprévue pendant que j'étais à Genève.
Donc je suis retourné sur mon spot préféré: Le viaduc de la Jonction.
Malheureusement, les photos ont été faites avec mon téléphone. C'est le problème des sorties photos imprévues. Et comme sa réactivité est pas géniale, mes photos de trains sont soit trop tôt, soit trop tard.😩
Mais j'ai pu garder une photo de RABe 511 (Stadler Kiss) et une photo de la ville de Genève.

Heute ging's mit dem Rad nach Krefeld zu schöner Natur am Egelsberg und an den Niepkuhlen, dann weiter zum Nordbahnhof. Der Museumszug Schluff wird aktuell von einer Diesellok gezogen - die Dampflok "Graf Bismarck XV" ist in Reparatur. Nach ein paar architektonischen Highlights im Krefelder Norden trafen wir den Schluff dann nochmal bei Hüls zum Trainspotting...
