"A new wolf pack has emerged in Northern California, wildlife officials confirmed this week, marking a continued resurgence of the endangered species a century after its disappearance from the state.

The presence of the family comprising four wolves — two of which are pups — was first detected last summer by camera traps set up by the U.S. Forest Service near #Lassen Volcanic National Park, about 50 miles north of Lake Tahoe. Subsequent sightings were recorded by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife’s wolf biologists, who had been monitoring the area in recent weeks, Axel Hunnicutt, state gray wolf coordinator for the agency, told SFGATE."

I have a real soft spot for #lassen national park. It's had a rough time the last few years though - 60% burned down by the Dixie fire and now the Park fire is getting close. Selfishly going to wreck camping plans, but just hoping they get the #parkfire out quickly and save as much as possible. Oh and we need to get rid of a few Gigtonnes of CO2 quickly from atmosphere..

Closed doors and a windows update that stalled the world. Who needs windows in a world without walls ;-)
