Am looking at a bumblebee working my desert willow blossoms in my back yard. (Yep, I have desert@plants doing quite well in my #NorCal garden.) The bumble is so huge I for the life of me have no idea how it flies! Its fat!

Well, we finally did it! Removed ALL of our lawns (aka grass) - planted drought resistant plants, laid down black weed barrier, put down mulch! On the other side we removed the lawn, the unground sprinkler systems, added a 3rd driveway, put up a retaining wall and laid down river rock!! Done - now we won't use all that water for the lawns! Put up 2 greenhouses in the back yard and growing tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumbers, jalapeños, ancho chilis, and a bunch of herbs! retired fun!!
