🌋 Kilauea volcano‘s currently active eruption in Hawaii https://www.youtube.com/live/mKJ7ZyIdjeQ
The bright orange eruptions, orange streaks of lava flow, orange lit clouds of smoke & steam all contrasted against the black sky and land are quite the visual ASMR. Paired with the ASMR wind from the mountain, the effect is quite calming and peaceful.
Putting this on a projector is quite the night light to fall asleep to (requires YouTube Premium to avoid noisy ads interruptions that harsh your mellow)

One more eruption (lava overflowing now, precursor to fountaining) starting at #Kilauea #volcano in #Hawaii. Just happens to be around the same time of increased earthquake activity at the underwater volcano 20 miles off the coast. #USGS

Crater Lake, Oregon
We traveled a little this summer. We took a road trip across the country. It was nice getting out. We have not been doing much of any traveling like we did in the years before 2020. We have been mostly just working on the house and visiting with family during these past six years.
I am going through my new photographs of nearly 5,000 RAW images, and will be posting some of my favorites here, on my WordPress blog. The posts will not be in chronological order to our trip. The new photographs from the road trip displayed in this group of blog posts will not be made available at any of the PODs that I have been using.
This group of photographs were taken during a drive through Crater Lake National Park. We had been here once before, but the fires’ smoke mostly hid the landscape from us. It was nice to clearly see the area. The lake was so blue, and it reflected the surrounding scenes nicely.
To keep us company were some nutcrackers, as there were a few of them at the viewpoints. There were a couple of other birds, such as the pictured kestrel, also seen. And that was it for wildlife sightings in the park that day.
The moon was visible and I took some creative photographs of it.
