Proponents of #LiquidGlass might do well to remember that the people behind #FlatDesign weren't proven right by time.

Objections weren't just the shock of the new, or unfamiliarity.

Flat Design was objectively worse on any reasonable measure than the previous #Skeuomorphic paradigm, and the only way it was "saved" was by re-introducing skeuomorphs to it.

I really dislike the flat design that has come to overpower everything since 2013. I prefer the old iphone Skeuomorphism, pixel art icons from the '90s (e.g. #BeOS), and the new #neuomorphism (but with more contrast than shown in the pic). But flat design, no, thank you.

For shits and giggles I just tried switching the application style in #Linux to the old win9x style. But man, look at those *useful signifiers*! Buttons that are OBVIOUS. Windows that have clear EDGES. Scrollbars that are big enough to click, always visible and PROVIDE INFORMATION, helping giving me a ->mental model<- of the content. What the hell has happened to UI design in the past decade? Minimalism destroys #usability.
