On my phone, while using Google Contacts app to enter someone's new telephone number, I chose this country code:

🇺🇸 Uni.ted Sta.tesThat's a rather tone-deaf change of data that I intentionally entered, since Canada is pointedly not part of the Unit.ed S.tates.

My Anker powerbank, which is otherwise very good, has this design flaw: There’s no indication what is up with regard to the display, and there are so many ways both readings make sense. More often than not this is how I see it.
Just now I watched the capacity fall from 25 % to 15 %. Duh.

Our experimental pattern generator program can now create automatic infills! Yay!
It also does a decent job on hand-drawn sketches (see pic 2). Still working on concave shapes and internal holes... :clippy:
For now, only zigzag and parallel infill lines are possible. More exotic patterns will follow soon. 🙂

Ich sitze in Wagen sieben und kann den Pfeil zu Wagen acht nicht anders lesen als dass ich gegen meine Blickrichtung gehen müsste. Auch wenn meine Logik sagt, der Pfeil weist von mir aus nach vorn und ich es als Interfacedesigner genau so gezeichnet hätte. Die Neigung des Bildschirms bringt alles durcheinander.
Ja, ich mache mir über so etwas wirklich ernsthaft Gedanken.

The new fight for the everything app? Apps extend their feature sets beyond their core: Figma does whiteboards and presentations, Miro has docs, tables and prototyping. And every month they roll out something new. Heavy fighting to lock users in, in a market they see volatile enough to grab Microsoft’s and Adobe’s user base.
But I don’t know. Do they still have clear missions for their apps?

GrapheneOS uses the stock Android launcher (unlike my old phone). It always shows this weird line at the bottom (not sure if I can switch it off). I believe it's a reminder that gestures are activated.
Today I noticed something: it changes its color depending on the background below for maximum contrast.
It's cool because its a sign for the attention for details that went into the interface design. And I love good interface design.
