  1. We spent decades moving beyond #commandline—toward #interfaces that made work visible.

    Now we’re rebuilding everything as chat.
    Not because it fits the work, but because the tech allows it.

    This isn’t a technical shift. It’s a design regression worth debating.

  2. Psst… your forms could talk. They could remember. Validate. Help. Loïc Magnette shows how to give forms a brain using #LangChain4j + #Quarkus. It’s not a dream. It’s a pattern.

  3. Forget next-gen #UX. This is next-human UX. Loïc Magnette turns boring forms into helpful convos - with validation, memory, even file upload.
    Your form, but smarter.

  4. Why should users adapt to your form… when the form can adapt to them? #AI flips the #UX script. Loïc Magnette shares how with memory, validation & RAG, forms become assistants.

  5. I feel it's a shame that ChatGPT being the first genAI "killer app" now means that conversational UIs and chatbots dominate so much.

    I think alternative ways to use LLMs are much more interesting - and it's annoyed me enough that I sat down and wrote a bit about 5 alternative ways to use them in the company tech blog: bakkenbaeck.com/tech/5-pattern

  6. Increasingly I am having clients approach me asking for help with conversational interfaces like AI chatbots. I really believe this has huge potential. Might be worth brushing up on your knowledge in this area. #AI #ConversationalUI boagworld.com/emails/the-rise-

  7. Conversational interfaces have come a long way from simple chatbots. With advances in AI, they’re now almost indistinguishable from human interaction. I look at why you need to be paying attention to them now. #AI #ConversationalUI boagworld.com/emails/the-rise-

  8. It's remarkable how much of my soul has been obliterated[1] in the past week programming for Amazon's Alexa platform:

    * Crappy documentation
    * Poor debugging feedback
    * Non-deterministic behavior when things are "working"

    Rather than writing useful business logic, I'm stuck in the code-equivalent of poking a gelatinous blob to see how it will react it I poke it some place or other.

    [1] No worries, it'll grow back.

    Woot!

    Another wonderful release of our modern multi-model #DBMS for operating on relational tables and entity relationship graphs.

    BTW -- #ChatGPT, courtesy of its underlying #LLM and #ConversationalUI, is a great companion for utilizing this unique platform -- as recent posts demonstrate.

  10. Circa 2023, #ChatGPT (and others) have arrived opening up a new frontier for understanding and utilizing the unique prowess a #SemanticWeb brings to bear -- courtesy of a #ConversationalUI approach to #SmartAgent implementation.

    I've just published a blog post that doubles as a live end-to-end example of what's always made the notion of a Semantic Web a major leap forward in the evolution of technology first introduced via the World Wide Web (#Web).

  11. I was trying to think, what would an #AI first desktop environment be like? #ConversationalUI is one thing, and while having that like a Spotlight/Raycast thing would be good, that’s not the best interface for most things.

    Would it be suggested application sets? Start one app, it could recommended related ones? Or even suggests ways to organize your windows? Pair it with eye tracking, and it intelligently resizes your windows depending on your focus?
