I don’t know if it’s an iPadOS thing or an Ice Cubes thing, but the New Post window needs to be RESIZABLE on iPadOS.
Fucking liquid glass has elements all piled on top of each other, making adding photos or hashtags a chore.

I threw in the towel on #icecubes. It crashes if the screen rotates while you’re composing a post and I’m tired of having to start over.

So Icecubes just loses your post if you happen to switch to another app for a few seconds to check something. Not good UX and I lost a long post…

@bscross32 @jonathan859 I hear you, but what are our options? I just got a MacBook Neo, so I also want a Mastodon client for the MacBook. I tried IceCubes, which doesn’t work because it keeps losing focus. Ivory isn't free either.

anyone else use #icecubes iOS app with GoToSocial? for some reason it won’t work with my instance @IceCubesApp

I enable approval requirements for follow requests mostly to avoid various spam/fishing like this account created today on mastodon.social. I normally reject the request and block the user. I
Seems like it might be useful to be able report the request but don’t see that option. Normally using the #IceCubes app.
What do other folks do? Suggestions for good hashtags?

I like @IceCubesApp but it seems like every time I rotate the app on my phone when writing a post, it freezes up and I lose the post. Anyone else having the same problem?

Beim Anschauen eines Videos hat #IceCubes mal wieder den Pointer auf die aktuelle Position in der Timeline verloren. Die letzen 2 Stunden suche ich jetzt nicht zusammen.

Which Mastodon mobile client are you currently using? I've been using #Tusky for the longest time and I decided to have a look at the official Mastodon client.
I quickly uninstalled it tho', since it was lacking way too many options for my liking (like the ability to set the language to English WITHOUT having to change my phone's language to it).
Visually the official client does look pleasing and with nice animations, but I'm continuing with Tusky for now.
On iOS, #IceCubes is pretty good

If it were up to me, I’d reverse the timeline views. Old is up, new arrives down.
Why? That would align read direction (which is top down) with chronology. Meaning: continuous reading.
Now I see (say) 3/3 first. It has a bit of content, say lines 3a-3g. I want to read /2, /1 and scroll (counter read direction) back. So what I see is:

1fThat’s a lot of back and forth there. Unnecessarily so.

new year update on what I'm using: #phanpy and #pl-fe as desktop clients, my own #fedicat and a bit of #IceCubes on iOS, hosting this and other official accounts on #mastohost, account on iosdev.space is super useful for ios dev, random posting on universeodon.com (basically where I started in the #fediverse, in retrospect I would have picked something with a shorter domain), love using #neodb and #bookwyrm, and thanks to all the admins out their hosting my test accounts!

Es gibt ja immer noch sehr viele Leute, die hier einfach irgendwelche Links posten - ohne Überschrift, ohne Kontext, teils völlig kryptische Buchstabenfolgen die noch nicht mal im Ansatz Hinweise auf das Linkziel oder das Thema geben.
Welche Erwartungshaltung besteht da? Ich jedenfalls werde niemals auf so einen Link klicken oder sowas teilen.

Auch irgendwie interessant: bei diesem Post bekomme ich das erste Bild in der #IceCubes-App für #Mastodon nicht angezeigt. Siehe erster Screenshot.
Der zweite Screenshot zeigt den Post aus der #Impressia-App für #Pixelfed. Dort ist das erste Bild als ganzheitliche Ansicht zu sehen und wenn man weiter nach rechts wischt kommen auch die drei, die mir Ice Cubes anzeigt.
Diese unterschiedliche Darstellung ist für diesen speziellen Post eher unproblematisch, andere Posts würde das zerstören.

Android is in dire need of some fancy-looking Mastodon apps. Mastodon appeal would get such a boost from having apps like @IceCubesApp @MonaApp or @ivory .
Don't get me wrong, I am a huge fan of @apps , it was an instabuy, but customization is one thing. Looking pretty still does the job.
