I loaded Elementary OS into a VM with virt-man. It is a very nice looking distro. I could easily recommend it to a new user, especially if they are coming from MacOS.
I appreciate their announcement today that they will not accept any "AI" generated code in their distro. Real software made by real people.

I finally did it! After several months of navigating the challenges of deGoogling, I just deleted my Google account after 15+ years. I was deeply invested in the Google ecosystem, and it has not been easy. However, the journey has been worth it.
I've replaced everything I used from Google with FOSS options, and I'm already noticing the benefits, like increased privacy and control over my data. One of the biggest challenges was finding reliable alternatives, but I’ve discovered some fantastic tools along the way.
Have any of you made a similar switch? I’d love to hear your experiences or any recommendations you might have!

I have been relying on using Keurig coffee for the past few weeks and I really miss me some french press. Hell, I would take some super basic drip in a pinch.
So, today, I went out and bought a couple of bags of coffee beans and a french press (mine didn't make it in the move). As a bonus, the beans are from Mad Priest Coffee, a local group and they're socially and environmentally responsible and seem to have a good sense of humor.
Anyways, I am totally looking forward to getting up tomorrow morning.

Tonight, I uninstalled Discord from my system. In its place, I am going to try Revolt. I already use Signal for a small number of contacts but don't expect everyone to move to it.
My reasoning is because I have been concerned for a long time about Discord's business practices. They are trying to jam in ads and monetization wherever they can. Not only is the software proprietary, it is essentially spyware.

I got my blood work back from visiting the new doctor. For the first time in my life since being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, I might have it in remission. I went from 11.2 to 5.2 in 7 months. The only medication I take for diabetes is Mounjaro (not to be confused with Manjaro), which has also helped with the 50 lbs I have lost this year. Besides the medication, I also associate the improvement with eating better, drinking a lot of water (over 120 oz/day) and moving more.

I forgot to take my Seroquel last night. I lay in bed for hours not sleeping before I realized it. We'll just call it No-Sleep-Thursday.
