@fesshole I loved The Jackal! I didn't know what a "one cup metal cafetiere" was so I looked it up. I'm in the US & I don't drink coffee, but I like the idea of cleaning things & reassembling them, so I found this video of someone cleaning his.

I've had a cheap French press for about 10 years now. It's not bad, but it has been kind of a pain to clean; when I dump the grounds into the trash, a lot of them stay stuck to the glass. So I have to rinse the press a little, over and over, and dump it into the trash again and again.
But recently at a church bazaar I found a used Williams-Sonoma French press for $8. Unlike my old French press, it has a dual layer of glass, separated by air; kind of like a thermos, in that the outer surface does not get hot. The press part itself is also much finer quality, and includes a grid that filters out grounds when you pour the coffee out.
But the thing that's particularly cool is that when I dump the grounds out of it, they pretty much all just go straight into the trash. Unlike the old press, I don't have to rinse the thing out again and again. One dump into the trash, and then I can just rinse it in the sink and clean it.
It's just too bad that a new one would probably cost $50 or $100!

And it is definitely a Grizzly Claw morning. Can’t wait! But my photo shared today is from my double brew coffee yesterday, a sort of emergency coffee. I used my smallest French press with 1/2 cup coffee saved from Sunday plus fresh ground beans and boiling water. It worked.

I have been relying on using Keurig coffee for the past few weeks and I really miss me some french press. Hell, I would take some super basic drip in a pinch.
So, today, I went out and bought a couple of bags of coffee beans and a french press (mine didn't make it in the move). As a bonus, the beans are from Mad Priest Coffee, a local group and they're socially and environmentally responsible and seem to have a good sense of humor.
Anyways, I am totally looking forward to getting up tomorrow morning.

Paper filters trap the oils without blocking the beneficial #antioxidants and #caffeine.

I've done #cocoa in my #coffee before but this time I added it in directly with my freshly ground beans in my #FrenchPress.
3 scoops of a medium roast beans (I mostly drink dark roast) ground then mixed with two scoops of #Droste cocoa, sweetener (60/40 #Allulose and #turbinado #sugar blend) with heavy #cream.
Rich, decadent, deliciousness 😋

@juddium wooow, I completely forgot I also have a #FrenchPress! #Mokka is cool and tasty, in my family we always had it in the morning. Very inefficient to prepare it with my ceramic stovetop though.
I try to limit my coffee intake to maximum 2 cups a day, as few times I didn't have it on the weekend I was feeling withdraw symptoms. 😅

Honestly, instant #coffee ain't so bad. After so many years of not drinking instant coffee, I rediscovered #Nescafe during this #COVID19 #NewNormal lifestyle. Not bad at all. 👍

I could not find an affordable #FrenchPress to replace the one whose base cracked a few weeks ago. Well, at least not one that doesn't have plastic rather than stainless steel parts on the inside. So, I got this glass #teapot with built-in metal #tea filter instead, for 150 NOK (about 15 EUR / 18 USD currently) at #ClasOhlson.

To add to @Siiw's question asking why our #tea pot (or rather, #FrenchPress) sometimes leaks down the side while pouring, and sometimes doesn't, here's a photo of ours.
(And yes, we made sure the sieve part of the lid/pressis aligned with the spout, as shown in the photo.)I suspect it has something to do with liquid surface tension on the grate/sieve obstructing free flow of the liquid, but that's just based on highschool #physics I barely remember.

If I feel like more than 1-2 cups myself, I have a #Pickwick tea glass set I got from my sister-in-law several years ago that comes in handy.
