  3. I want to share management of existing #LXC #containers (that I handle with the command line tools) with other people who prefer to use GUIs… (oh, preferences…)

I'd rather not have to "convert" or "migrate" of whatever, but just have the GUI tools manage existing containers without screwing them up…

As I understand, at least #Proxmox will want to create them by itself so it's a no-go.

Anyone experiences with #libvirt / #virtManager can tell me if it's the same or not?

  5. So, to allow a linux vm to access a directory from Fedora host with virtio-9p, I'll need to run:

    # semanage fcontext -a -t svirt_home_t "/some/dir"
    # restorecon -vR /some/dir

Idk why sealert offers this non-working solution instead. It's really weird.:

    # semanage fcontext -a -t virt_image_t 'dir'
    # restorecon -v 'dir'

  7. okay
i have installed windows11 today in 3 different VM-system (LXD, virt-manager, VirtualBox) and I am back in virtual box, the classic.
so, now exploring win11 and... where the fuck is the X on the settings screen?!
Yes, I have installed all updates and restarted. Wheres the X? How do I close this window?
Spoiler: i found out, can you guess?

  8. I realized virt-viewer doesn't let me click on the 'circled blue i' button to configure the vm.

    This command works though:
    virt-manager --connect qemu+ssh://elgar.local/system

I need this because it seems that virtual USB doesn't recover from a device reboot when using the the #shure update utility under a windows VM. So I have to manually disconnect and re-add the usb hardware when it gets stuck at 90%

I doubt this is a Shure bug. Workaround anyone?

  14. In case you've tried using @xubuntu with @gnomeboxes or
virt-manager and experienced random crashes during startup or mid-session, removing the libva-wayland2 package seems to stop the crashing entirely for me.

    Command line:
    sudo apt remove libva-wayland2
