  1. Can I use #archlinux with 100% #FreeSoftware while still calling it Arch and affording community support for Arch? I don't want to switch to #Parabola #GNU #Linux because that will disqualify me from community support for Arch.

  2. A new blog post on what seems to be my theme the last few months: parabolas from a directrix/focus perspective.

This time around a look at what happens when a chord goes through the focus

  3. And so, here are four functions to demonstrate it. The default resolution of the plotting routine is crude, leading to #Aliasing and so the mesh has to be refined somewhat.

Here are three #ConicSections and one #Trigonometric functions.

    An #Ellipse
    A #Parabola.
    A #Hyperbola.
    A rotating #Tangent function.

  4. @starlabssystems Hi!
My laptop: Arch (rolling, minimal, flexible)
    My desktop: openSUSE (rolling, secure)
Family boxes: Debian (stable, reliable, just works)
LiveUSB: MX (nomadic, works OOTB on any hardware)
Smartphone: LineageOS (much better than Android)
PS: would prefer something fully open/libre (#Guix, #Trisquel, #Parabola, etc.) but some hardware demands blobs...
    #arch #linux #gnu #debian #mxlinux #lineageos #opensuse

  5. So #GuixSystem (i.e., the OS) has a service to provide a build VM to sandbox the #Guix build process, and this made me think, it could be handy to provide a service for creating #Trisquel or #Parabola VMs as a base, effectively extending the Guix functionality set with the Debian & Arch Linux package archives

  6. Truly free #GNU/Linux distributions like #Dragora, #Trisquel, or #Parabola tend to have fewer contributors but all the same hosting expenses as larger distros. Have you donated to support them yet? dragora.org/en/donate.html #FreeSoftware

  11. Did you know that the FSF tech team provides critical services to the GNU Project, like email, build servers, release hosting, bug tracking, Git hosting, and provide servers to free software projects like #KDE, #Replicant, #Trisquel, and #Parabola? All on computers with free BIOSes! Read the full article to learn more about their work: u.fsf.org/41z
