This keeb is better than most so-called “ergonomic” keyboard, but it’s still ridiculously expensive (280$).
There are a lot of good open-source keebs out there, that you can buy or build for a fraction of that amount: #Quacken, #Corne, #Totem, #Planck, #Atreus

  2. I'm just itching to do something about my #Olkb #planck v3 #ortholinear #mechkeyboard not being used. Really tempted to try the #cherrymx2a Blossom with featherlight linear touch at 35cN only, or the tactile + silent MX2A Honey.

I'll need to de-solder the old switches (no hot swap) which is a deterrent...

  7. Do you know how Big Infinity (∞) is? Divide the Entire Observable Universe into an equal Number of Planck's Cube Space. Now put a digit in each of those Planck's Cube Spaces. Use all of these individual spaces to get an Extremely Huge Number. That huge 'Number' will still NOT be Infinity. 🤯

  8. Help please: GU_OFF ?

I'm using an unmodified Planck dropshipped keyboard. It is mostly as represented here raw.githubusercontent.com/qmk/ with the exception that the lowest-left key is 'shift' and not 'brite', although it would be nice if it were related to my keyboard backlight. See also config.qmk.fm/#/planck/rev7/LA, which seems to match except that both my spacebar buttons are, for now, really just space.

My toddler mashed some buttons for ten minutes before we realized where he was, and ever since then my GUI key is disabled. I have verified that it is, evidently, the GU_OFF command that was run, as it is strictly the GUI key that is disabled and even when I swap GUI and ALT (Meta) it remains the GUI key (even after it changes position) that simply does nothing. I have never installed my own firmware and mostly have just utilized the Dvorak layer. I really need my GUI key back. I've verified that it is the keyboard and not the system by using the keyboard on another, my Windows gaming box, and still there is no GUI key (there used to be, as it brought up the Windows start menu, which I used sometimes).

Any idea what could have disabled my GUI (Windows, Super) key on my Planck, and how I can get it back short of flashing the keyboard (I can't get to Flashing, but that's another post)?

  10. Been using these for a few days now, and am really liking the ceramic keycaps. A little more thonk, and a little less clack.

  11. Yesterday, I gave a seminar on Entangled Relativity at the laboratory 'Theory and Universe' at the Paris Observatory: youtu.be/viTu7SNkvfU

Please share widely, all too often I meet people who have never heard about this. And I think it's really too bad: not every day do we have a new theory that reduces the number of elementary constants! Moreover, in this theory, concepts like the #Planck length and time become obsolete, potentially bridging the gap between #QFT and #gravity !!

  12. With a lot of delay, I’ve just realized that ZSA has discontinued the #OLKB #Planck #keyboard. Of course there are other providers, as this device is open-source / open-hardware, but ZSA was delivering a pretty smooth version and I used to recommend it a lot.

The Planck been rocking the world of ergonomic keyboards since 2015. No other keyboard has blown my mind that much ! It totally changed our expectations and paved the way for all current compact keyboards.

  13. After many months of using the Preonic, I switched back to the Planck. Turns out I just don't use Function keys, even when they're sitting there as a top row. I did migrate over the keycaps, though. I'm still a fan of blank keycaps, but really like the look of the Mito SA.

I'm also still using a COLEMAK layout, with some adjustments. The gory details can be found here: git.skj.dev/sean/qmk_firmware/
