I'm just itching to do something about my #Olkb #planck v3 #ortholinear #mechkeyboard not being used. Really tempted to try the #cherrymx2a Blossom with featherlight linear touch at 35cN only, or the tactile + silent MX2A Honey.
I'll need to de-solder the old switches (no hot swap) which is a deterrent...

My split keyboard I built died for the second time due to electrostatic discharge (ESD), needing a new micro controller once again.
It has taken me some time to get accustomed to using a split keyboard, but for the last month or so I have been able to use it full time without too much issues. So I am quite sad now when it is rendered useless, just when I really made it work out well for me...
Anyone know any preventive measures that could be taken when building the keyboard to reduce the risk of an ESD? I know there are some keyboards being built with ESD protection, like splitkb's Halcyon series and some beekeeb keyboards, but they are all prebuilt, it seems. Do we just have to accept that our keyboards will die at random if we build them ourselves?

Looks like I might have to retire my wasd keyboard v2 (cherry mx clears) which has been my main input device for the last 12-13 years. Been trying to hold on as I prefer a full keyboard with numpad/media keys/etc and the current 60%/65% mechanical fad I just don't understand how anyone is programming missing the other 40%?! Need as many keys as I can get. Found this thread https://discourse.codinghorror.com/t/what-happened-to-wasd-keyboards/10143/18 which lead to https://cliffle.com/widget/recode but sadly not compatible and unfortunately I have two. Probably could try hacking something together and getting QMK on it but there are a couple of other creature comforts I'd like, wireless, bluetooth, hotswap, single key combos, haptic feedback, tap dancing, etc. Is my only choice to build my own?
FWIW: Please don't tell me about modifying layouts via x11/wayland. I know, it doesn't work uniformly and never has and never will; i'd like to do any layout modding via firmware, so at least QMK.

Woof! That was a hell of a session! Just need to trim off a little bit of rod in the middle columns and then I can start soldering up the microcontroller. Unfortunately it’s a little too late to turn on the Dremel! Absolutely in love with using copper rods instead of wire though, it’s sooo pretty!

I recently bought a #ZSA #voyager #MechKeyboard with Choc Pro Red switches. See the link below for a brief review of those switches, plus some further tweaks I made to my #Graphite #altkeyboardlayout for gaming.

I've started exploring a modern #AltKeyboardLayout called #Gallium, very similar to the #Graphite layout. It is reported to have a nice flow to it, will see how it compares to the #ISRT (#Colemak based) layout that's I've been using up until now. #MechKeyboard #ErgoKeyboard

I would really love one of these https://nuphy.com/products/air96-wireless-mechanical-keyboard
I eased back into mechanical keyboards with the Logi MX Mechanical but I would really like a wired keyboard for my Linux NUC

Almost 2 years of waiting for the wilba.tech Salvation, but it's finally home.
I've been preparing for this board for a year, and now that it's finally here, I get to build this beautiful board.RAED linears, and some red hangul sublegends top of this clean af board. I had to put some plate foam to kill off some resonance with the fr4 plate, but overall it sounds clacky and crisp.
I'd say the highlight of the board is really the red shade. It's not as bright as I originally thought it'd be, but it actually turned out way better in person. It's such a nice deep red that really works well with the simpler keycaps.
The true leaf-spring mounting has just the right amount of bounce to make it comfy to type on, without getting overly soft or flexy.

The Wind X R2 is a 65% with a numpad that I decided to get because I thought it would be a good daily driver for work.
The layout's a nice compromise for those times when a numpad would have come in handy, but you don't really need the function row.
I lucked out with the recent in-stock sale that happened a few weeks ago. I was able to get a Bluetooth version in a color that matched the Osume tsukimi R1 means it was a match made in heaven. (Heck even the absence of a stepped caps lock worked out. Lmao)
I had to tape up the flex cuts that were on the PCB to get a more well-rounded and full sound, but I have to say— I'm pretty happy that I did that.

When an opportunity comes to get a set of osumekeys keycaps for below the SRP, (inclusive of shipping + dues) you take the chance.
It looks really nice on the Tofukorn. 😎

Got my hands on a 1-of-1 polycarbonate "Tofukorn" with a cerakoted brass weight. I got it for a pretty good price considering it was a fully built kit with broken in gateron KS3's.
It's a great low-front height board that I find really comfortable with. Copium-unikorn, maybe. But I'm pretty happy with it.
I just need to get my hands on a PCB with underglow to really take advantage of the polycarbonate case. 😎

The Nayeon TKL was a small GB designed and organized by abats.kb and troyr0x.kb
It's such a beautiful board that sounds very crisp with pewters and an alu plate.
I chose GMK Hallyu to match with it to really lean into the kpop theme.
I think this really works well together.

What's the point of building a #MechanicalKeyboard if you don't take aesthetic pics of it?
GMMK Pro
FR4 plate, Durock smokey stabilizers
Gateron box brown switches

I am yet to see a manufacturer color-match GMK Mecha01 as closely as GrayStudio can. 🤩
