This keeb is better than most so-called “ergonomic” keyboard, but it’s still ridiculously expensive (280$).
There are a lot of good open-source keebs out there, that you can buy or build for a fraction of that amount: #Quacken, #Corne, #Totem, #Planck, #Atreus… -

@amin I already have a #Dasung #epaper monitor connected to my #Thinkpad, so just need a good keyboard (looking at #Atreus) and monitor stand and stuff to complete my desktop setup. Since my needs aren't that heavy, maybe my #PocketReform can double up as a "desktop" when docked...it's also likely to be more powerful by the time I've saved up enough to be able to afford it 🤪
And yeah I'm making do with a dumbphone already, which has been a bit hard but getting better by the day...I mean year 🚀

@bnjbvr ZSA est une boite cool mais ses claviers restent des dérivés du Kinesis Contour, qui date de 1992, bien avant la révolution #1DFH. Y compris le Voyager (touches de pouce très mal placéses).
Cela dit :
1. sans dactylo stricte, *aucun* clavier ergonomique n’a le moindre intérêt ;
2. un #Ferris est utilisable avec #QwertyLafayette ou #Ergol, mais requiert la maitrise des homerow-mods (HRM). Un #Corne ou un #Atreus serait plus simple. On prépare un clavier dans cet esprit (#Quacken). -
I think I've achieved basic competency with the Atreus after a solid 3 weeks. Still slow, but I'm not completely helpless anymore, so that's nice.
My slowness is offset by how nice it feels to use, and having a keyboard-only environment. Reaching for trackpad/mouse is extremely rare (blender or music, this keyboard needs to be put away) -- day to day work, feeling some positive inertia.

La hype autour des clavier ergo donne des prix effarant au regard du matériel vendu :
Un clavier #Corne en kit, non soudé, sans les touches, revient à 100$...
Un clavier #Ferris Sweep déjà soudé mais en kit donc sans garantie revient à 270$ !!
Alors qu'un #Atreus qui est un produit fini ne coûte que 166€ (ce qui est déjà beaucoup, je trouve, pour un clavier avec si peu de touches !)#ergol

J'ai un clavier #Atreus depuis deux semaines, et j'ai dès le début choisi d'utiliser #QwertyLafayette et #Arsenik.
La transition a été un peu rude, vu que je tapais toujours en Azerty US. J'ai failli abandonner le deuxième jour, mais Keybr et MonkeyType m'ont été bien utiles.
Je suis très satisfait de ma nouvelle config, on voit que ça été pensé par des vimistes. La couche AltGr est juste géniale. Merci @fabi1cazenave !

I'm done with my DIY #atreus palm rest made from oak. #keyboard #keyboardio
Had to add some Levi's denim, to keep the S.F. connection. 😜
Finally oiled it with linseed oil.
Has a little bit more structure than the walnut version, and some more tool marks. But I am quite happy with the result. -
I took both bottomplates btw. I can’t make a decision which one is better 😅
