Painting with light is a brilliant and actually quite simple technique for making a still life more interesting. Here, in a dark workspace, I used a pocket torch to ‘paint’ the tools with light for 25 seconds — et voilà!

Ich war damals tief bewegt wegen des Todes meiner so geliebten Schwiegermutter. Mit Tränen in den Augen fuhr ich auf einen nahe gelegenen Hügel und schwenkte meine Kamera halbwegs umher, geführt von meinen Gefühlsausbrüchen. Noch heute fehlt sie mir. R.I.P. Gertrud!
