I have attached some product photography photos I have taken.
I've used a gradient overlay layer effect to color the background layer, which is a duplicate of the original photo. On top of that is the stand alone car using hand drawn path mask that has been rasterized and which has a tiny gaussian blur of 0.2. That way I can effortlessly blend the fore- and background, color correct the isolated car while keeping shadows naturally.
I don't miss photoshop much, Affinity has enough features and my work doesn't require complex tools much. But sometimes I yearn for automated tools like selecting objects in product photo's. Here I've hand drawn the mask for the Dreamcruiser by hand, which isn't much of a bother since the outline is pretty clean and my main tool is vector drawning anyway. But still...
Next step: photography. Not my forte, but then again, nothing really is (im a generalist, not a specialist). 👀
Something most brands underestimate: the ROI of professional product photography.
A single good image set runs for years — across your website, ads, marketplace listings, and social media. The cost is one-time. The returns keep compounding.
At GradePixel in Singapore, we shoot product images designed to keep paying back long after the shoot day.

In an era where every detail in a homepage image is carefully staged, someone must have placed that decanter there intentionally. So what is Blackmagic trying to tell us? That Hollywood is hard to process without a drink? Or: Edit, grade, drink, export? Found on the DaVinci Resolve homepage.
